I've had the spark 40 since it dropped - replaced the speakers and plugged the bass port and it sounds great...I also purchased the wireless airstep spark footswitch to use with the Spark 40 - nice!
When i got my GO, I did some research and found that after a firmware update of the GO and my airstep footswitch, they work like with the spark 40....the GO and the footswitch work together perfectly...
Using mode 2 on the airstep, I can scroll up and down between my four presets and dedicated footswitches for drive, mod, and delay, just like on my spark 40 - this is fantastic!
Modes 1,2, and 3 all work with GO - have not tried looper mode
Nothing worked right until i did the latest firmware updates for both GO and the airstep.
So pack the Go and the footswitch and a picnic basket and you are jamming everywhere - no electricity needed (for a while)...epic

Hi, All
I know this subreddit is for cars, but this is an issue that can occur in cars as well so I'm sure it's still relevant. 6 months ago I bought a Varadero 125 with 28k miles from facebook marketplace for cheap (as it didn't start due to clogged carbs, amongst other things I'll get into). It rides fine, definitely wasn't taken care of. It's got a small amount of rust across the whole thing, fork seals were blown, rubber brake hoses were 13 years old and the front master cylinder leaks a very small amount (I'll get to it as soon as I can afford it).
So into the present day
During my interim service yesterday we decided to perform a compression test. Back cylinder read 110 psi and the front 75 (bear in mind 11.8:1 compression ratio). The head gaskets are brand new due to the repairs that it underwent after I bought it (sent it away as I deemed the big stuff a little too much for my first job) so I know it can't be them.
My guess is of two things: Cylinder wall + piston rings or valves.
It may be the valves as one of the repairs performed was an exhaust valve replacement on the rear cylinder (2 valve SOHC) due to overspeed by the previous owner. That's the cylinder with the better compression. The one with bad compression is still on the old exhaust valve. I believe it's possible that the rear valve being bent may have damaged the seat, resulting in poor compression. I also believe the front exhaust valve may still be ever so slightly bent (again, could also have a damaged seat due to the bent valve).
Alternatively, I believe it could be the cylinder wall as there were traces of cursed milkshake on the oil filler cap. The bike has been through plenty of abuse so I don't doubt there has been improper piston lubrication on more than one occasion. Other evidence to back up that idea are traces of oil on the spark plugs and a significant amount of airflow leaving the crank case when the filler cap is removed (which I assume to be blow-by).

Now that the symptoms and my "diagnosis" is out of the way, onto solutions.
I've found a machine shop in wales that will check the quality of my valve seals for £15 with a vacuum. They'll also hone my cylinders for £20 each which I find to be quite reasonable (though if I go through, I'll be sure to check they are using a real honing machine and not one of those nasty drill tools). That makes both repairs very feasible. The biggest issue is in regards to the piston rings. Wemoto are charging a whopping £84.60 for a pair of rings which I would rather not pay if I can help it.
So what do you think I should do? Are new rings the way to go? Is it worth getting the walls honed before putting new rings in? Is it worthwhile to get my valves checked by the shop, or can I do it myself with more commonplace tools and methods? If I do need to buy new rings, can I get ones of comparable or better quality than the Wemoto ones for a slightly more reasonable price?
Most importantly, are there any other jobs that may need doing judging by the description I've provided? I can imagine it's been through a lot but besides the poor compression I'm yet to identify anything else that's actually wrong with it.

I have a 1994 DeVille with the 4.9 and it seems to idle slightly weird and it usually takes about 2 cranks to start. Its got 89k on it and has new oil, new oil filter, and air filter but that's about it. The performance on it is fine. I'm pretty sure everything in that engine is original except for the belt and power steering area. The previous owner also only ran mid grade instead of premium in it so that might have cuased some issues. Do u guys recommend I do anything to prolong it's life because other then a bit of a weird idle it runs great. I think it just might need new spark plugs but if u guys could recommend anything that be great.

So this all started at the beginning of spring when i tried to start my mower for the first time and got nothing. Did a full tune up, drained all fluids, cleaned carb, new gas, new oil, new spark plug, new air filter. NOTHING! Replaced carb entirely. It starts and runs, now we are getting somewhere. Start mowing and a few minutes later it dies. More research, check gas cap for clogged vent, seems fine, gas isn’t over filled. More research, drills hole in gas cap for more venting. Same result, buy new cap, again more of the same, starts, runs for a couple minutes and dies. Please help before I go drop a grand on an Ego.

Direct question. Ive worked for several shops and dealerships and it all comes back to the technician being treated like a second class. At auto dealers, youre at fault for every "comeback" regardless if it's actually your fault or not. Changed spark plugs and now the AC conveniently doesnt work. In the truck side, youre always second to the drivers. Driver appreciation week every 6 months where they buy lunch for all the drivers but the techs can only have whats left over. Higher ups sitting in an office chair that has maybe set foot in a shop once in their life determining that since you can do a job in under book time that the book time can be cut down. I don't even understand how that decision can be made - were being paid for our knowledge to do the job under book time, that doesn't mean it should be cut.
What gives? Talking with an older guy in the shop said it used to not be this way, that mechanics were respected decently enough. Now it's like you're dirt. Literally like you are a lesser person because you're a tech. Ive been in it for 10 years and its really eroded me down. I don't enjoy what I do anymore. I mean, I do, just not as a professional. A vehicle has been to 4 other shops, no one can figure out the issue, comes to me and is figured out in an hour - no appreciation from anywhere, even a big F You because it was $100 more than they wanted.
Oh and junk pay to have $20k in tools and work in what is realistically a hazardous environment.
No wonder the industry cant find good workers.

136k, this has the fb25 engine. paid $6100. changed the bushings and links for the stabilizers front and rear, also spark plugs, air filter, all fluids incl. atf and both front and rear diff. fluids. three drain and refills on the atf with oem subaru atf fluid. cleaned the sensors on the air box and changed out the pcv. thats about it. runs good, showing 23.7 mpg. this is after battery disconnects, so i'll see what happens with that. been checking oil, and i'm at 2800k and its bare barely budged, happy about that as i read these use oil, maybe it had the short block work done, carfax is vague about the repairs. so far so good, price the cam seals leak slightly on the left side, but valvoline maxlife seems to be slowing that down and no drips on the sensors up there, gonna leave it. any known issues with these?

I have recently bought a 2015 NC2 miata, and according to many sources and forums online, it should be giving me a good 450-600 kms (279-372 miles) per full tank. To my surprise, a full tank gave me 300 kms (186 miles) only, which is nuts for a 4 cylinder small engine car with a 50L fuel tank. My L/100km sits around 12.9 which is also crazy high. I bought the car second hand.
Any ideas or suggestions in what might be causing this? Spark plugs were replaced about 4,000 kms ago.

• A Different Philosophy on Character Backgrounds
  
  • There is no concept of "Race" in Quantum State. Due to the setting, genetic modifications are commonplace (one Base Class can even rewrite their genes on the fly to overcome challenges), so anyone can look like what or whoever they want. Your appearance is not what defines you. Everyone is human, but the definition of what qualifies as "humanity" is flexible and loose.
  • Instead, we use Birthrites (there are 9 to choose from), which heavily focus on the dominant ideology they were exposed to during their formative experiences. What were the dominant ideas, thoughts, and values that shaped this character leading up to the events of the story? Whether they were for, against, or indifferent to these ideas is up to the player.
  • As it stands, each Birthrite can function as a wholly complete adventuring setting unto itself, giving a wide breadth of options for Docents to pull from to quickly and reliably create settings on the fly as needed. Beyond creating a plug-and-play setting, Birthrites are a deep dive into potential motivations, goals, and beliefs that make it easy to draw rational behaviors and direction for NPCs and factions.
• Accessible, yet Complex Character Creation
  
  • Players have an incredible amount of autonomy and freedom in how they fine-tune their character, with 36 Hybrid Class combinations, 32 Equipment types that can be improved through training and a modular Weapon System, 875 pieces of GeaEquipment Modifications, 550 perks, and 1,300 Heroics, there are literally hundreds of thousands of permutations. The chances of any two characters being the same, even when sharing classes and equipment, would be a statistical anomaly.
  • Every player will also have access to the Tenderfoot Class (for those of you keeping count, that would be 4 Classes total for every player) which features an array of entirely customizable soft improvements that allow players to further fine-tune their characters, allowing them to branch diversify their talents outside of the scope of their other Classes or further lean into their specializations.
  • Character Progression is granular, with each Level-up allowing the improvement of a single Class Rank, with a hard cap of 10 (making the maximum Character Level 40). Players can choose to develop one Base Class over the other, creating a natural dominant class and sub-class for every player character. This allows players to truly shape their characters over the course of their adventuring careers.
• Rules for Tactical and Cinematic Playstyles
  
  • Many of the Gameplay mechanics will be familiar and accessible to most veteran RPG players, with rulesets that enable both tactical wargaming and fast-paced cinematic-style action sequences.
  • Quantum State was designed around a Lodestone method of balance, meaning the current Character Level will serve as a marker for what would be the "average" difficulty for any given goal, making improvising stats on the fly a cinch.
  • Statistics are balanced around a D10 System (no D20s here) where 90% of rolls are resolved with a D10, while damage/healing can be rolled with multiple D4s, D6s, D8s, and D10s.

New to the grease game
Hey everyone, so today I got an outrageous housing for changing a ignition coil and spark plug north of 1k when the pieces for my car are 50 dollars and it's a fast procedure so fuck them I'm learning how to fix cars. I work as Doctors and always looked at them as machines so I'm thinking time to look at a car like a human. Basically any advice ? I want to learn how to be able to tell what problems my car is having and understand parts. Is there any beginner guide /book or any tips on how to start learning?

Almost exactly 1 year ago the front end of my car started to shake after I started it. I did some research, had a code run on it at autozone, and found out it could be due to the spark plugs so I replaced them and it fixed the issue. Afew weeks ago it happened again and so I decided to drive the short distance home from work so I didn't have to have it towed and less than a mile into the drive it completely stopped shaking and the next day it was fine. A day later it did it again and so I shain drove home and it stopped during the drive. I decided to just get my oil changed bc I was about due to see if that affected anything and if hasn't done it for a few weeks now but when I went to drive the other day it did it again. Is it possible I need to change the spark plugs again? Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this seemingly random shaking?

I have a 400 small block in my 1981 Camaro Z28 sometimes it will start right up sometimes I have to give it gas sometimes it won't start at all, when it's running it sounds like it's missing somewhere I changed the spark plugs and they're all fine it will just shut off at random as well, does anyone know what the issue could be

Description of Original Problem: Suddenly on startup the PC won't boot. There is also no signal to the monitors. The EZ Debug LED's show GPU missing/Failure (3 from top).
Troubleshooting: I have:

• Removed and reseated the GPU
• Tried the 2nd lower PCI-E slot
• Tried a new GPU - I had a RTX 4070 on order that has now arrived. This showed exactly the same symptoms. I have now shelved the GPU until the issue is resolved. Yes, I understand that the GPU recommends a 650W PSU and yes, the I am aware that the CPU will bottleneck the GPU. I am pretty certain that the GPU itself is not the issue.
• Removed 1 stick of RAM at a time and attempted reboot. With both sticks removed, the RAM fault LED lights as expected. Both sticks of RAM are now back in
• Disconnected all SATA cables and plugged them back in one at a time between reboots
• Disconnected all external USB devices and cables from the motherboard.
• Attempted to reset the CMOS

None of the above have made any difference. The fault still remains.
This now leaves me either with the Motherboard, CPU or PSU. My original plan before the fault was to replace the CPU with a 5600 in a month or so. I had already flashed the BOIS approximately 4 weeks ago in preparation for this upgrade. If the Motherboard is faulty, I may look at a newer generation of motherboard.
I am unsure what I should try next. I don't readily have any spare components available to try.
Any advice on what I could possibly try next, or what components I should attempt to replace?
