2023.05.30 10:01 robntamra Has a friend become a functioning alcoholic?
I’m 43 and have been close friends with this same-age individual for 30 years, we talk often but can go a couple months without actually seeing each other. During the past 4-5 years both of our social drinking shifted from micro beers to whiskey/bourbon, which may have made this worse due to alcohol content.
We both have young families with kids of similar ages. I’m very content to have an ounce or two of quality whiskey during an evening with him however, he’s become on another level.
These recent years, my friend seems to now gauge the quality of every weekend, even with his family, based upon the prospective goal of finishing a whole random bottle of quality bourbon in a single day. Little seems to be about spending much quality time with the kids.
Example of our common discussions: Me - How was last weekend, at a cabin, with the family? Him - Great, in one day I drank almost an entire bottle of Knob Creek 15 year single barrel. This other guy I met helped… Me - Ergh, okay. Him - You should have seen me on Thursday, at bowling, I got soooo drunk.. [then somehow gets home, everytime.]
Perhaps it’s bragging rights to which I think it’s very irresponsible of him.?.?
Our families camped together this past weekend and he started heavy drinking, by himself, by 8am. He fully passed out cold by 6pm. I was out with my family all day and came back to his wife pissed & his kids un-phased.
This seems to be a growing common trend each time I see him in over night situations. We have many campouts planned this year and expecting this to happen most weekend. To which, I’d like to talk to him and his wife about this concern. She obviously knows about a likely problem.
I worry about functional alcoholism since he does seem to work well and takes care of things around the house. Based on his liquor cabinet contents I surmise that he drink lots of cheap booze during the week and quality liquor on weekends.
Any thoughts on how to best handle this situation? Do I discuss this with him, after getting permission from his wife? Do I try taking him to AA meeting(s)?

2023.05.30 07:04 Insanekitten [CA] [US] [SELLING] Mega Anime Nendoroid Figure Sale (Older Nendoroid collection)
Image of wall of Nendoroids and couple of Figmas:
https://imgur.com/a/FBaVpAx?
I was an active anime collector a decade ago but I’m realizing now I just don’t really have the space to display most of my collection all at once, and most of these have just remained in storage. So with a heavy heart, I’ve decided it’s probably about time to really pare down my collection and let these go to a loving home where they will be better appreciated and maybe see the light of day.So I’ll be working on listing a bunch of my collection, from figures, manga, DVDs, plushies, and anime merch. Much of my collection is from around 2010 or earlier, I stopped actively buying stuff around 2013, so you will notice I have mostly older figures. I’ll still be figuring out what I really want to keep so some of these figures I may be on the fence about - but by all means feel free to send me an offer.
Happy to take more photos and provide more details if you are interested in specific figure(s), just ask.
I accept Paypal G&S. I am open to trades and best offers.
Figures come from a smoke-free and cat-friendly home and are being shipped out from Canada, BC, Vancouver. I will calculate shipping using either Canada Post or USPS, whichever works out to be the best option, and I will give buyers a range when possible. I am happy to combine shipping and ship worldwide. I am also willing to arrange for free pickups if you are in the Lower Mainland.
I use recycled materials, so basically I reuse Amazon boxes, or whatever I have on hand. I will ensure the boxes are sturdy and well packed (I give em the ol shake test). I can also buy new shipping materials to ship figures at buyer’s expense if the buyer prefers.

2023.05.30 05:53 NaimaChan Trip Report: Tokyo, Kawaguchiko, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Yokohama, Kamakura
Just got back from 10 days in Japan and wanted to type up a trip report to hopefully help others that are trying to plan a trip!
Our trip was 5/16 - 5/28 including travel days. This was my 2nd time in Japan (first time was study abroad for 5 weeks in May/June 2016), but it was my mom & sister's first time, so the goal was to include as many must-see activities as we possibly could in the short time we were there. Our days were packed to the brim however all 3 of us are fairly active and healthy so despite being absolutely exhausted by the end of each day, in retrospect we wouldn't have changed a thing in our itinerary.
That being said, our itinerary would be much too busy for the average person's first trip to Japan so keep that in mind if you use this information to plan your own trip. For example, we usually only had time to sit down and eat for one meal per day and had to eat on the go for the other meals in order to have enough time to go to all the places we wanted to go to. There was very little downtime in our trip.
Tourist Tips
- Luggage
- We each traveled with 2 checked luggage since they were included in our flight. I had one full sized suitcase and one slightly smaller suitcase which both only had one side filled when I left the US. The plan was to fill the other half of the suitcases with souvenirs to bring home. Last time I went to Japan, it cost me ~$200 to ship two large boxes of souvenirs back home, so despite having to bring a lot of luggage this saved me a significant amount of money and I will be doing this for future trips as well.
- Within our luggage we also packed a duffel bag to hold all our purchases on heavy shopping days and a daily backpack to hold things like our trash bag, hand towel, hand sanitizewet wipes, body wipes, small purchases, etc. My carry-on was a 40L backpack that I took with us when we stayed overnight in Kyoto.
- Money
- I brought $400 cash to exchange at the airport. I had gotten a Charles Schwab debit card before leaving which has no foreign transaction/ATM fees so I planned to use my card for whatever purchases I could then use cash for everything else. I ended up withdrawing another ¥20000 which was just enough cash to last me the rest of our trip.
- Walking
- Last time I went to Japan I survived wearing flat gladiator sandals basically the whole trip, but this did NOT work this time around for whatever reason (I guess we walked a lot more this time?). BRING COMFORTABLE SHOES TO WALK IN. I ended up having to buy sneakers on day 2 because I stupidly didn't think I would need them. I was more concerned about looking cute for pictures (ha) but I quickly realized that all the girls in Japan wear sneakers with their cute skirts and dresses, so I blended right in. I would also recommend bringing a second pair of shoes with you each day (in your backpack) to swap into if the shoes you are wearing start giving you blisters.
- Masking
- We saw a lot of people not wearing masks, but the majority of people still wear masks. I would say the ratio of people wearing masks to not wearing masks was about 80:20.
- Trash
- As many have mentioned on this subreddit, due to the lack of public trash bins I would highly recommend bringing a reusable trash bag to store your trash while you're out and about until you can find a bin. We found these cool black fabric ones with a waterproof liner on the inside that you could rinse out when it got dirty and could clip to the outside of your backpack so it wasn’t with your other belongings.
- Restrooms
- Due to the lack of hand dryers/paper towels in bathrooms we also brought hand towels as recommended, but found ourselves just air drying our hands way more often than using the hand towels as it was often more cumbersome to remove our backpacks and fish out our hand towels to use.
Accommodations
- Sakura Hotel Jimbocho in Tokyo
- I stayed in this hostel when I studied abroad in college in 2016, so it holds a special place in my heart. You can get a single room here for cheap, and although the rooms are extremely small, I don’t travel to Japan to spend time in my hotel so when looking for accommodations price is my #1 factor, not comfort. Toilets and showers are shared in this hostel and the rooms are set up coming off of a square hallway with sinks/restroom facilities in the center. The facilities don’t appear to be very modern and pretty, but the water pressure of the showers is the BEST. They have other room types as well, like bunk-beds, double rooms, etc. They have a 24 hour cafe downstairs and breakfast is included in your stay. All their staff speak English & Japanese (and other languages as well). They host some cool events like language exchanges and walking/jogging groups if you are more of a social person. I really enjoy the location of this hostel. You are within walking distance from the Imperial Palace and it still feels like you are in the city without it being so loud and busy like if you were to stay in Shibuya, etc. They do have other locations if you’re looking for somewhere with more nightlife.
- The Millennials Hostel in Kyoto
- This is a really modern looking hostel in Kyoto, 2 streets over from Pontocho. The facilities are gorgeous and look brand new. They are set up similar to a capsule style hotel with a bunch of rooms coming off a hallway. Your bed takes up your entire space, and you have about 18 inches at the foot of your bed to stand. You pull an opaque privacy screen down to make your room private - there is no door. You can control your bed’s incline and lights through an iPhone in your room. There is storage space under your bed and on a shelf above your bed. Restrooms are shared but the showers are in one room and toilets in another. There are a lot of shared common spaces including a full stocked kitchen you can cook your meals in, but we literally only stayed here to sleep so we didn’t explore those spaces. I was worried about other guests being noisy but that wasn’t the case - everyone was super respectful. The price and location was great so I would definitely come back here.
Daily Itinerary
Day 1 & 2: Travel - We flew out of Chicago O'Hare International Airport. Our direct flight to Narita was around $1600 after taxes, fees, and flight insurance. I had one layover the last time I flew to Japan and in the future I will only be buying a direct flight as I found this to be way easier than having a layover.
- Once we arrived in Narita we turned on our e-sim. We chose Ubigi after reading many positive reviews on this subreddit and I highly recommend them. We had some issues getting iMessage to work despite following Ubigi's instructions to a T, so we ended up just using WhatsApp to message during the trip, however, iMessage did start working later on.
- We decided against picking up our JR passes & seat reservations at the airport because the line was long and we didn't need them for another 5 days.
- Going through customs/immigration and grabbing our luggage only took about 20-30 minutes. There were many staff to guide you and we found the whole process to be really smooth.
- We exchanged our currency and went downstairs to buy our tickets for Narita Express at a ticket vending machine. We got round trip tickets for ¥3460 (keep in mind that the return ticket needs to be used within 14 days). We had purchased our Suica before leaving and put them in our iPhone wallets and they came with a balance of ¥2000 so we didn't load money onto our cards until the following day.
- We took the Narita Express to Tokyo Station then took a cab to our hostel in Jimbocho. We each traveled with 2 checked luggage, so we found the short and inexpensive taxi ride to be a better option than lugging 6 giant suitcases on local trains to get to our hostel.
- We checked into our hostel. The total price per person for 11 nights was ¥49500 (about $380).
Day 3: Imperial Palace/Ueno - We woke up and walked to the Imperial Palace/East Gardens. We got there right when they opened and spent about 90 minutes there. We walked back to Jimbocho to go to my favorite tempura place in Jimbocho. This place has gotten quite famous since I was last there in 2016. We were first in line at 10:45am and by the time they opened for lunch at 11:30, there was a line of 20+ people. Our lunch cost only ¥800.
- After lunch we took the train to Ueno and spent some time in the Tokyo National Museum and Ueno Park. We also visited Shinobazu No Ike Bentendo Temple which is a cool temple right inside Ueno Park. While at Ueno Station, we picked up our JR passes & seat reservation tickets and also put ¥5000 on our Suica. We really enjoyed the fact that you could charge your mobile suica at a convenience store using cash - we didn’t have to worry about finding the machines in train stations with the phone holders.
- After that we walked through Ameyoko and did some shopping - I bought a super cute used Coach purse for around $65. Ameyoko seemed to have a lot more products than when I was there in 2016… but I also had more money this time around so maybe I was just paying more attention!
- We took a train back to our hostel to drop off our shopping bags and change. We took a train to Shinjuku to go to New York Grill for our dinner reservation. New York Grill is on the 52nd floor of the Park Hyatt hotel in Shinjuku and the views were incredible. We got the Spring Harvest 5-course dinner which included wagyu and it was easily the best beef I have ever eaten in my life - so juicy and buttery. The cost was ¥23100 per person (~$175).
- 25,138 steps on this day.
Day 4: Shibuya/Akihabara - We woke up and took a train to Shibuya to see Hachiko, go to the Starbucks near Shibuya Crossing, and shop at Shibuya109 and Uniqlo. It was hard for me to find any clothing that would fit me at the stores in Shibuya109 (I am a US 8/10 which is basically considered plus size in Japan) however I was able to find a cute t-shirt at Punyu's in Shibuya109 and two dresses at Uniqlo. I also bought sneakers at the Skechers store.
- I also went to the Mega Don Quijote in Shibuya and spent about $102 on candy and snacks to bring home. Lots of fun KitKat flavors here but it was very crowded and hard to walk around with my extremely full baskets.
- We took a train back to our hostel to drop off our shopping bags and had a quick lunch via conbini.
- We took a train to Akihabara and bought some souvenirs and gachapon, and walked all the way back to Ameyoko where I spent another $90 on candy and snacks to bring home.
- We took a train back to our hostel to drop off our shopping bags and change. We took a train to Ginza to go to Tempura Kondo for dinner (a Michelin starred tempura restaurant). We got the Yomogi dinner which was ¥23100 per person (¥25410 after fees, ~$195). The staff were amazing - they noticed that my sister was left-handed and set up her plates/silverware as such which was really observant. We loved the dinner, however there was WAY too much food for us; the staff recognized we were starting to get full, and asked us if we would be able to eat the next course which was ten-don. I was really concerned about being disrespectful and wasting food, so I was really glad that they noticed and asked!
- 19,445 steps on this day.
Day 5: Asakusa/Ginza/Omoide Yokocho - We woke up and took a train to Asakusa to see Sanja Matsuri. We shopped at the small souvenir shops on Nakamise-dori and had street food at the festival for lunch. I bought an awesome goshuincho here with a wooden cover and foxes on it.
- After being completely overstimulated, we took a train to Rikugi-en Garden to escape the crowds. This garden is a little off the beaten path, just outside the big city, but it is completely gorgeous and so worth the trip.
- After the garden, we took a train to Ginza to window shop and go to our reservation at Higashiya Ginza for wagashi & tea pairing. We had 5 wagashi paired with 5 teas that were amazing. It cost ¥4500 per person.
- After this, we walked to Mitsukoshi Ginza to explore the basement food floor and grab dinner. They start to discount the food as the stores near closing time, so going for a late dinner can save you a couple yen! After eating on their rooftop terrace which was beautiful, we walked to Patisserie Sadaharu Aoki Paris Marunouichi to grab dessert then headed back to our hostel to drop off our shopping bags.
- After we ate, we took a train to Shinjuku to walk down Omoide Yokocho. We had a drink on the third floor of Bar Albatross - highly recommend! The alleyway is a lot shorter than I imagined, and very crowded as you would expect. I probably wouldn’t go back here in the future but I am glad we visited!
- 25,002 steps on this day.
Day 6: Harajuku - We woke up and took a train to Harajuku to visit Meiji Shrine and got our first goshuin.
- After visiting the shrine, we walked back to Takeshita-dori to get lunch at Afuri Ramen. They’re known for their ramen with yuzu in their broth and this was one of our favorite meals during our trip. We got there about 20 minutes before they opened and were ~8th in line. By the time they opened, the line was stretching around the building!
- We walked down Takeshita-dori and shopped, then went to our reservation at Mipig Cafe (mini pig cafe). This place was so cute! You can make reservations for 30 minutes or 1 hour where you sit on the floor and miniature pigs will come and sit on your lap. You weren’t allowed to pick the pigs up and the staff were super kind and handled the pigs well. A 30 minute reservation was ¥1800 per person.
- After the pigs, we walked down Omotesando and took the train to Shinjuku to get dinner on the food floor at Isetan.
- After we ate on the rooftop terrace (beautiful once again), we headed back to our hostel to drop off our shopping bags. We took the train to Shibuya to go to our reservation at Shibuya Sky. We got the package where you get an admission ticket including a 50 minute reservation for the sofa seats and a choice of a mini bottle of champagne or 2 beers per person, which cost ¥5900 per person. The views were unreal and I recommend reserving the sofa seats so you can get amazing pictures. This was a highlight of our trip.
- 21,719 steps on this day.
Day 7: Kawaguchiko - This was our first travel day. We woke up early to take the highway bus from Busta Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko. The bus was ¥4400 per person. We were able to get some super clear pictures of Mt. Fuji while we were on the bus and right when we arrived at the station.
- We bought the daily unlimited bus pass for ¥1500 which ended up not being worth it for us because we spent so little time seeing things on the bus route. First, we went to the Panoramic Ropeway. We got there about 15 minutes before they opened and there was already a really long line. By this time, Mt. Fuji was already completely covered in clouds but the ropeway was really cool and we still got some awesome panoramic pictures. They have a shop at the top where you can get ice cream and sit on some swings and take pictures.
- After the ropeway we took the bus back to Kawaguchiko Station to get on the train to go to Chureito Pagoda. The gnats here were INSANE. We climbed up the ~400 or so steps to the top and got some cool pictures as well as our goshuin.
- We walked back to the station and took the train to Fuji-san Station and walked ~30 minutes to Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine. The wooded walk up to the shrine is absolutely gorgeous. We got goshuin here as well.
- After the shrine, we walked and took a train back to Kawaguchiko Station to eat a conbini dinner, do last minute shopping, and catch our bus back to Tokyo.
- 19,374 steps on this day.
Day 8: Kanazawa - We woke up early to catch our 6:16am shinkansen to Kanazawa. Once we arrived, we bought the daily unlimited bus pass and took the bus to Omicho Market where we bought some souvenirs and food.
- We walked from Omicho Market to visit Ozaki Shrine and Oyama Shrine and got goshuin at both places. My sister realized she lost her wallet at this point, but a kind soul had turned it in to the staff at Ozaki Shrine!
- We took the bus from Oyama Shrine to Kenroku-en Garden, where we walked around, took lots of pictures, and sat down for lunch at a local restaurant.
- After lunch, we took the bus to the Higashi Chaya district where we shopped and took pictures.
- After that, we took the bus back to Kanazawa Station to catch our 5:57pm shinkansen back to Tokyo.
- 20,192 steps on this day.
Day 9: Kyoto Day 1 - We woke up early to pack our overnight bags and catch our 6:21am shinkansen to Kyoto, where we would be staying for one night. We decided to keep our reservation at our Tokyo hostel because 1) it was super cheap and 2) we would be able to leave all our suitcases and belongings in our rooms for when we returned to Tokyo.
- When we arrived in Kyoto, we headed straight to our hostel to have them hold our bags before we could check in later that day.
- After that, we took a local bus to the Arashiyama area. It was absolutely packed with school groups and tour buses. We walked up Saga-Toriimoto Preserved Street to Adashino Nenbutsu-ji Temple where it was much quieter. We got goshuin and visited the small and private bamboo grove behind the temple. We walked back down Saga-Toriimoto Preserved Street towards Togetsukyo Bridge where we stopped and sat down for lunch then continued shopping along the way. I got lots of uji-matcha here.
- We walked back to Arashiyama Station and took a train to Kiyomizu-dera where we got goshuin, then walked to a small rooftop bar overlooking the Hokan-ji temple and pagoda and got awesome pictures and had dinner.
- After eating, we walked back to our hostel and checked in, then slept for the night. Our 1 night stay cost ¥5000 per person.
- 21,545 steps on this day.
Day 10: Kyoto/Nara Day 2 - We woke up super early to check out of our hostel and head to Fushimi Inari. Our hostel held our bags while we went sightseeing for the day. We arrived around 6:45am which was so worth it - it wasn’t crowded at all and we got lots of pictures of the shrine and torii gates without any people in them. We walked for about 30 minutes up the mountain then headed back to Inari Station to head to Nara.
- Once we arrived in Nara, we spent some time with the deer then visited Todai-ji and got goshuin.
- After that, we took a train back to Fushimi Inari to visit the souvenir shops which had not opened yet when we had gotten there earlier that day. We shopped and got goshuin, then headed to Sannenzaka/Ninenzaka to shop. We visited Ryozen Kannon to get pictures (they had closed by the time we got there) and walked down Ishibei-koji Lane and Hanamikoji Street.
- After that, we walked back to our hostel to pick up our bags. We took a taxi to Kyoto Station to catch our 7:36pm shinkansen back to Tokyo.
- 27,861 steps on this day.
Day 11: Tattoo - My mom and I went to a tattoo shop near Shibuya to get matching tattoos on our wrists, then my mom spent the rest of the day shopping in Shibuya with my sister while I got another large tattoo on my shoulder.
- After my tattoo was finished, we all met up in Ikebukuro to get gyudon for dinner.
- 9,879 steps on this day.
Day 12: Yokohama/Kamakura - We woke up and took a train to Yokohama where we walked the Minato Mirai 21 area and shopped and had lunch at World Porters.
- After lunch, we took a train to Kamakura. First, we visited Hase-dera and got goshuin. I got lots of pictures of the hydrangeas even though they weren’t in full bloom yet.
- After that we walked up the road to Daibutsu and got goshuin. We walked back to Hase Station and took a train to Kamakura Station and walked the pedestrian pathway in the center of the road to Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu. We got our goshuin and were able to observe a small part of a traditional Japanese wedding that was happening at the shrine, which was really cool.
- After that, we walked back to Kamakura Station and took a train back to Tokyo.
- We spent the night packing. I ended up completely filling my suitcases with my souvenirs and had to put even more in my carry-on bag.
- 21,131 steps on this day.
Day 13: Travel - We woke up and headed back to Senso-ji to grab our goshuin, since it was too busy when Sanja Matsuri was happening the week before.
- We took a train back to our hostel and checked out around 11am, then made our way to Tokyo Station to take the Narita Express back to the airport.
- We arrived at the airport with plenty of time before our flight so we could get last-minute souvenirs. I found a couple flavors of KitKat and Hi-Chew here that I could not find in Donki/Ameyoko - but I could not find Beni-Imo KitKat which is the flavor that I was looking for! :(
- We flew back to O’Hare and drove home from there.

2023.05.29 18:12 No-Egg8932 Friday June 30TH Line Up
2023.05.29 17:32 immacamel Defending the Draft: 2023 Green Bay Packers
A new era is under way in Green Bay, and there's a lot to cover about this offseason. First, let's set the stage.
Key Signings:
KR Keisean Nixon- the return dynamo who renewed my will to live after watching Amari Rodgers play football. Signed again on a 1 year deal worth up to $4m. And he figures to have a larger role on defense this season. This was one of the biggest wishes for packer fans this offseason, as it finally shows a dedication to building the ST unit.
S Rudy Ford- he had himself a nice 2022 and got re-signed for his efforts. It's a one year deal, and he will compete for the starting safety spot as of now.
CB Corey Ballentine- a reserve CB who I will always have a soft spot for due to his tragic draft night story. Ballentine has been re-signed and will compete for snaps in an unsettled secondary.
S Dallin Leavitt- a Rich Bisaccia re-signing. Leavitt was a quiet killer last season as a special teams ace, and he returns in that role this season.
OT Yosh Nijman- a developmental prospect that has blossomed into an serviceable swing tackle, I thought Nijman would get more on the open market than his RFA tender price. He will be back with the Pack in a LT2 and RT2 role for 2023.
Key Departures:
DT Dean Lowry- Lowry gave the Pack his best and we appreciate him, but his ceiling was evident and achieved. Devonte Wyatt was drafted as a high upside replacement. Lowry signed with the Vikings on a 2 year deal.
WR Allen Lazard- Aaron Rodgers's latest security blanket, Lazard is rejoining Rodgers on a 4y, 44m deal with the New York Jets. A quiet, consistent performer for the Packers throughout his tenure, Lazard will continue to be a sure-handed possession receiver in New York, transforming the slot position previously occupied by Elijah Moore into more of a big slot. He will also continue to mug people in the run game.
TE Robert Tonyan- Bobby Tonyan heads south to Chicago to be TE2 behind Cole Kmet. Packer fans love Tonyan for bringing pride back to the position in GB, and I honestly feel bad for him. He likely missed on his chance for a big pay day after tearing his ACL in 2021 and having a down year coming back. Now he's pushing 30, but he still provides excellent hands for the position and a great work ethic. Godspeed, buddy.
DL Jarran Reed- the big man returns to Seattle this season on a 2 year deal. Reed was just about what we expected in Green Bay- not great, not bad. He was a placeholder in a spot that Wyatt hopefully can take over.
Free Agents yet to be signed:
WR Randall Cobb, S Adrian Amos, TE Marcedes Lewis, K Mason Crosby
All members of the old guard. Cobb recently had surgery, and is a contender to rejoin Rodgers in NY. Amos had a down year, but could still have some left in the tank. I'm guessing he has an offer from GB and is weighing his options. Lewis also could be weighing his options between retirement, the Jets, or sailing into the sunset where it all began for him in Jacksonville. Mason Crosbys wife seemed to confirm on social media recently that the Packers have little interest in re-signing their all time leading scorer. Crosby made some clutch kicks for us over the years, and if this is the end, the Silver Fox will never have to buy a beer in Titletown again.
2022 season review: Record: 8-9 Oh man. 2022 was the year it all came crashing down. Green Bay tried to keep its veteran core together for a few years, appeasing Rodgers and navigating the salary cap reasonably well. But they never achieved that brass ring. Minus Davante Adams and working with a broken thumb, Rodgers struggled the most he has since his inaugural season as a starter. It's now time to address Rodgers in this post; I could write an entire entry solely on Rodgers and this past season, but I'll leave it at this: Aaron is my favorite football player of all time. He led the Packers to their greatest stretch of sustained excellence since Vince Lombardi roamed the sidelines, often with depleted rosters around him. In my opinion, hes the most talented QB to play the game. It seems a majority of Packer fans were ready to move on from the man and soured on him this offseason. Personally, I think he will be an MVP contender in NY next year and still love him. But it was time. The Jordan Love era needs to happen, if only for the front office itself needing to justify their faith in the Love pick. Rodgers and the Packers were operating on different timelines the past few years, stuck somewhere between going all in and resetting. The front office has put all their chips in on Jordan Love.
The defense was expected to be a top 5 unit, but regressed heavily. Joe Barry was under scrutiny all year long, seemingly incapable of putting his plethora of first rounders in positions to succeed. A late season push did just enough to save his job (apparently).
Favorite win: Dallas Most frustrating loss: Detroit, week 18
Rodgers's exit also raises an interesting thought: will we see the True Matt LaFleur Offense this season? Offensive deficiencies have been blamed on Lafleur himself or Rodgers's hesitancy at transitioning from a traditional west coast offense to a Shanahan-esque, motion based attack. The answer will be uncovered this year, with Jordan Love having 3 years of experience in the scheme and a first round pedigree. As a Love truther in the pre draft season who hated the pick for the Packers, I am fascinated. This pick will make or break Gute's and Lafleur's tenure.
Aside from the quarterback situation, there are lingering questions concerning LaFleur's ability to lead the team in general. The Packers have consistently laid an egg in one game every season of his tenure and have come up short in the playoffs, with some head scratching decisions rearing their head in crunch time of big games (the end of the Bucs NFC championship the most glaring). I also have questions on his staff hirings/retentions. LaFleur hired 2 dogshit ST coordinators before making the obvious choice of Basaccia. He also chose to retain Joe Barry, noted football terrorist, as defensive coordinator. I've read rumblings that Gute has more say over the staff than the head coach, which is unconfirmed but concerning. I don't mean to dump on LaFleur in this piece, only to emphasize how big of a year this is for him. I think his scheme is sound and the guys play hard for him. With Rodgers gone, I think we see less RPOs and inside zone handoffs to AJ Dillon out of shotgun. The offense will have more identity. But if there are 2 more years without the playoffs in Green Bay, the Cheeseheads will advocate for a new coach.
2023 Draft:
Positions of need: S, TE, WR, DT
Round 1, Pick 13: Lukas Van Ness, Edge, Iowa With the world expecting Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Gute stuck true to his type and drafted athletic freak LVN out of Iowa. Van Ness profiles as a Rashan Gary clone, with a high RAS score and unrefined repertoire of pass rush moves. If he works out like Gary, this is a massive hit. In the pre draft process, the only guy who could have realistically been there for GB that I had above Van Ness was Peter Skoronski. He wasn't there, and there was no doubt in my mind Gute was going for LVN afterwards. He'll rotate with Gary and Preston Smith this year, and will kick inside on certain packages. He makes Smith expendable in the future.
Round 2, Pick 42: Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State Musgrave has the size and athleticism to be a game changer at tight end. His tape was short but encouraging. His biggest questions are durability and how he will develop, given his late breakout and immediate injury afterwards. My comparison to his playstyle was Travis Kelce, and if he can approach even 70% of Kelce's production in a season, this is a great pick. The biggest hole on the roster was TE, and I have a feeling Gute got the top one on his board.
Round 2, Pick 50: Jayden Reed, WR, Michigan State The process of this pick was nerve wracking. I was one of many fans pounding the table for Brian Branch, the S out of Alabama. When Gute traded down instead, I was telling friends I hoped he took Jayden Reed, and that's what happened. Reed is smaller receiver who plays bigger than his size on contested catches. He carried the Michigan State offense last year after Kenneth Walker jumped to the NFL. My comparison for him is Tyler Lockett. In Green Bay, Reed will take over the slot role, and I expect him to see around 60% of offensive snaps.
Round 3, Pick 78: Tucker Kraft, TE, South Dakota State Another tight end added to a barren room. The former Jackrabbit is similar to Musgrave in a lot of ways- big, athletic, and a willing albeit unrefined blocker. Kraft's addition along with Musgraves could push the Packers into more 22 personal this season, something LaFleur wants to run but hasnt had the personnel for, and I would not be surprised to see him outsnap Musgrave if he develops quickly. I'm really hoping this is the pick that breaks Green Bays 3rd round curse (seriously look it up its so bad).
Round 4, Pick 116: Colby Wooden, Edge, Auburn A former 4 star recruit at Auburn, Wooden collected 17 sacks as a 3 year starter in the SEC and showed inside/outside versatility. He shows an ability to rush with speed and power, but is inconsistent in his pad level and technique. He anchors well in the run game and showed great gap discipline. I don't see him getting many snaps this year, but if he does I think he takes Kingsley Engabare's role on run downs.
Round 5, Pick 149: Sean Clifford, QB, Penn State A perplexing pick until I saw this man somehow has a 9 RAS. Clifford is an experienced college starter who plays with a clear understanding of his role and a passion for the game. My issues with him were accuracy, arm strength, pocket presence, and decision making. You know, playing quarterback. I did not give Clifford a draftable grade and would have preferred Jaren Hall or Max Duggan. But this is really nit picking over a 5th round pick who was drafted to be a career backup. If the staff sees something in him, I'll give it a chance.
Round 5, Pick 159: Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Virginia A 6'1, 206 lb vertical threat, Wicks was inconsistent in his career at Virginia. If he replicated his 2021 production last year, he might have found himself as a day 2 pick. Alas, a new offense and drops led to his availability at this spot. Wicks has a good release package and the ability to stack DBs and get vertical. His tendencies as a body catcher led to drops last year, and he doesn't provide much after the catch. With his profile, he'll be a WR4/5, but could be a special teams ace very early in his career.
Round 6, Pick 179: Karl Brooks, DL, Bowling Green A bit of a tweener, Brooks is a high motor, high effort pass rusher. He flashes great technique and seems to rush with a plan. He can get washed out in the run game, and will need to commit one way or another to defensive end or defensive tackle. He graded very high from PFF, so that's something. To get on the field, he'll have to show more consistency and ability when anchoring down in the run game.
Round 6, Pick 207: Anders Carlson, K, Auburn Apparently, Mason Crosby's replacement. Anders is the brother of Las Vegas kicker Daniel Carlson, who's pretty damn good. There is a connection with Basaccia there, who's known Anders since high school. I wasn't encouraged by his stats at Auburn, but I'm not going to pretend to be an expert in scouting kickers. If Basaccia says he's that dude, then that dude he is.
Round 7, Pick 232: Carrington Valentine, CB, Kentucky Valentine is a WR convert with a long, slender frame. He is at his best in press man, where he has a variety of ways to get hands on the receiver and reroute him. Unfortunately for Vallentine, Joe Barry hates press man and will kill my family if I suggest it again. Valentine's frame can lead him to get bullied by bigger WRs at times, but he is physical at the catch point. He also brings experience as a productive kick returner, something that could be helpful in the future or even this season if the staff wants to keep Nixon fresh for defensive snaps.
Round 7, Pick 235: Lew Nichols, RB, Central Michigan A big back with some intriguing traits, Nichols enjoyed a very productive 2021 before injuries hampered his 2022. Nichols has good vision, contact balance, and power as a north-south runner. He was productive catching out of the backfield, but wasn't asked to run many routes beyond that. His biggest hurdles in the NFL are going to be elusiveness and speed. He lacks both, but should be a decent backup. For the Packers, they used their RB3 less than maybe any team in the league last year. This will be the Jones&Dillon show again in 2023.
Round 7, Pick 242: Anthony Johnson Jr, S, Iowa State Johnson Jr is a converted cornerback who plays with rare physicality for someone of that description. He did his best work in the box or in the slot at Iowa State, and that may be where the Pack will try to get him some snaps this year. He can be over aggressive in his pursuits at times and take bad angles, but that is coachable. Given the state of the safety room, the 7th round rookie may find himself starting some games this season.
Round 7, Pick 256: Grant DuBose, WR, Charlotte DuBose comes from UNC Charlotte, where there apparently is a football team, and he was 2nd team all C-USA last season. DuBose has excellent size at 6'2, and I love his agility on in-breaking routes crossing the face of safeties. He has experience both outside and in the slot, and is an interesting addition to the WR battle at the bottom of the roster, which is going to be highly competitive. It may come down to how good he can be on special teams. Coaches and teammates rave about his work ethic and love of football, and he worked at Walmart while keeping himself in shape during the Covid year. I'm optimistic he can carve out a role for himself and make the team.
Overall, Gutekunst drafted for need at times in this draft, but still stuck to picking guys that fit his type: big, athletic, and versatile. My biggest shock was not taking a safety until the 7th round, but I think it just never lined up with his board. There was an obvious effort to surround Love with talented pass catchers, which is a breath of fresh air from this team. I was surprised that they didn't take a single offensive linemen, given this is almost certainly Bakh's last year in the green and gold and question marks surrounding some of our young guys, but we drafted 3 linemen last year and the staff may have high hopes for Zach Tom to be the next left tackle. The franchise has earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to scouting and developing OL.
All told, 2023 is the most excited I've been for a Packer season in a few years. There are so many unknown variables surrounding the team, from Jordan Loves development to LaFleur's offense to Joe Barry's pending glue eating scandal. Media pundits have them ranked somewhere between 20 & 26 in the league hierarchy heading into the year. Personally, I'm a little higher on the Pack, and they will shoot up these rankings if Jordan Love delivers. There's a lot on Love's shoulders. This is the season we've been waiting for with baited breath for 3 years, the post-Rodgers era, and now it's here, for better or worse.

2023.05.28 20:23 dreamingofislay Feis Ile Day Two Recap (5/28)
| Following up on yesterday's recap of Lagavulin Day/day one of Feis Ile 2023, day two of the festival was another cracking day, although we deviated from the main event schedule. Douglas Laing Peat-zeria Rare Tasting Today is Bruichladdich day, now known as Rock'ndaal (the new name they coined in 2022, which carried over to this year). Hopefully, our fellow Redditors here on Islay can offer thoughts on Rock'ndaal 2.0. We skipped it because Bruichladdich was a little too crazy for our taste in 2018. Of all the distilleries, they throw the biggest party, which feels almost like a small music festival/rock concert. It gets very crowded, especially with the frenzy to get their special bottlings. Great for people who want a more high-octane experience, but not for us, at least not this time around. Instead, we did a Douglas Laing old & rare tasting and then headed to Bunnahabhain distillery for the legendary Warehouse 9 tour. Our impressions and notes: - The peripheral events outside of the big distillery open days are underrated. We pretty much didn't even know they existed during our first visit, but we're making more of an effort to try them out this time. Independent bottlers like Douglas Laing and others throw some small events or tastings and showcase some exceptional drams. For instance, my tasting today was a 120-pound/$140 ticket (most expensive one I got this trip) but was an absolute tour de force featuring two pours of 37-year-old and 40-year-old Port Ellen, along with several other spectacular whiskies.
- Douglas Laing's global ambassador Dougal is such a knowledgeable, chill guy, and getting to hang out with him for a few hours drinking such special whiskies has got to be the highlight of the trip so far.
- Peatzeria (in Bowmore) has to be one of the best restaurants on Islay. Got takeout from there for dinner last night, and did the Douglas Laing event there at lunch, and I suspect another few meals during the trip are going to come from Peatzeria. Met the owners at the tasting, and they are lovely people!
- Take many small 1-ounce or 2-ounce bottles with you if you're coming to Feis Ile. Why, you ask? At any tasting or event, if you have a delicious whisky but don't want to finish it, take it to go! This is eight straight days of drinking, so it's critical to keep a level head (a bad hangover could mean losing out on an event or at least not enjoying it). At most events, I fill up some sample bottles with what I don't drink, label them to remember it, then bring them home and can enjoy great whisky later in the evening after a big dinner or a refreshing run. Pacing is critical.
- Despite their fame and iconic status, Highland cows are a rare sight in Scotland. Driving around in 2018, we noticed tons of cows and sheep, but none of the Highland variety. Well, we broke the streak today. On the small road from Persabus up to Bunnahabhain and Ardnahoe, less than a mile up the road, there are big pastures that had actual, real-life Highland cows. Major trip highlight to find some of these cuties - I'd even bought socks with Highland cows on them as a souvenir two days ago, so I was thrilled to see them in real life.
The elusive Highland cow - Another animal note: Islay has white swans that live out in its ocean bays, which struck me as so unusual and fascinating (didn't think they would like saltwater). Back in 2018, there was a swan living outside of Laphroaig who one distillery team member named Gary. This time, we spotted a swan couple outside of Lagavulin and another - or perhaps the same one - outside of Bunnahabhain.
- Confirming earlier Reddit reviews, the Bunnahabhain Warehouse 9 tour is a delight and one of the best experiences on Islay. The tour host, Katie, was funny and charming, and she can talk all day about the ins and outs of Bunnahabhain (which, to be fair, is her job!). The new visitor center's been open for about three years now, and the facelift they've done has made Bunnahabhain a much more attractive site than in bygone days. They also have the best views on Islay, with a stunning pebble beach looking over the bay to the Paps of Jura and, in the far distance, the mountainous Isle of Mull.
The legendary Warehouse 9 - Bunnahabhain's gift shop is also one of the best laid out and designed on the island. One thing I particularly loved, and wished every distillery did, is that Bunnahabhain sells individual sample bottles of about 15-20 expressions, including not just its main bottlings but also the single casks offered on the Warehouse 9 tour, past Feis Ile expressions, and other special visitor shop-only bottles. We left the gift shop with samples from the 2018, 2021, and 2023 festivals, along with the 25-year-old, all for very reasonable prices (e.g., 15 pounds for the 25, which is a 400-pound bottle, and costs even more, around $600, stateside).
The drams I've tasted today include: Old Particular Bunnahabhain 15-year-old (Douglas Laing, 48.4%) - This was a cool treat because it was an entirely ex-bourbon unpeated Bunnahabhain, a rare find from that mostly sherry-aged house. Floral, fruity, waxy, with maritime notes - could have told me Tobermory or Old Pulteney and I'd have been none the wiser. Big Peat Feis Ile 2023 Smokehouse (Douglas Laing, 48%) - Big Peat has always been on the sweeter side of the Islay spectrum, and this one's no exception, layering on a Rioja red wine finish to a double-digit-aged Big Peat base. I know Ardbeg just released an expression called BizarreBQ which is supposed to have big BBQ notes, so I'll be interested to compare with this one. Going to pick a bottle up as soon as I see it back home. XOP Caol Ila 40-year-old (Douglas Laing, 54.2%) - This is where the tasting took a step up from excellent to legendary. Old Caol Ila gets so soft and pleasant, almost perfumy, with loads of musk and ambergris complementing a very fruit-forward core of pears and tropical fruits. XOP Port Ellen 37-year-old (Douglas Laing, 52.6%) - All these old whiskies drink like a dream, with no alcohol prickle left after so many decades of maturation. Port Ellen is pretty unique for an Islay whisky, for better or worse. It lacks the muscle and rough edges (some would say, the sex appeal) of a young Laphroaig or Ardbeg, but adds some fresh-baked biscuits, creamy maltiness, and a very warm, spicy smoke that isn't quite like anything I've had before. Stunning whisky. XOP Bowmore 25-year-old (Douglas Laing, 54.2%) - After having so many ex-bourbon whiskies, this majestic sherried Bowmore was the perfect change-of-pace. Rich, nutty, the ideal dessert dram; like a fruitcake and a glass of mocha blended together. Surprise dram, Port Ellen 40-year-old (Douglas Laing, 57.3%) - Since I had to run early, Dougal was nice enough to pull out the end-of-tasting surprise a little early and gave me a to-go pour of this whisky. Haven't tasted it yet, but I know what I'm doing tonight ... Bunnahabhain W9 2006 Manzanilla (58.6%) - Katie did not tell us what we were drinking until we tried each dram first, a great way to avoid biases/preconceptions. This one drank like a lightly sweet but mostly dry sherry profile (we did know it was Manzanilla because this particular one has it written on the barrel), with champagne-like notes of cereal grains, nuts, and some orchard fruit. Was shocking to me that it was such high ABV, would have guessed 47-48% blind. Bunnahabhain W9 2009 red wine cask (57.7%) - Wonderful example of a red wine finish. Banana cream was a distinct scent that came to mind, and this was a sharp contrast to the first whisky because it had real bite and sharpness, with strong oak tannins on the finish. Bunnahabhain W9 2009 sherry refill + 3-year Amarone finish (61%) - Pretty sure I've never had anything finished in Amarone before. Amarone's a wine made from dried grapes, and I don't know much about it, although the winemaking technique sounds like Vin Santo. This one was a classic house style heavily sherried dram, although the Amarone added some creaminess and a very sweet maraschino cherry note. Bunnahabhain 2004 Moine (peated) oloroso (53.9%) - One of the best drams of the day, and that really is saying something after the day I've had. "Glazed ham" was Katie's tasting note suggestion, and that's spot-on. This is a luscious and meaty whisky with some savory cooking smoke to it. Bunnahabhain 2004 Moine (peated) PX (51.8%) - Free pour at the gift shop after our tasting, while we were buying bundles of other 3 cl sample bottles. It's funny that we tried this right after the previous oloroso peated expression from the same distillation year. This one was sharper and sweeter, and the balance of the finish and the peated spirit wasn't quite there, although we're really splitting hairs. A great dram, if not quite at the level of some of the Warehouse 9 whiskies we'd just enjoyed. The night is young here, and I'm sober thanks to my driver's dram/empty sample bottles system, so may post more notes as the evening goes along. Attending Feis Ile and being in Scotland/on Islay are some of our all-time favorite experiences, and it's been so nice to be back and have those same feelings revived or redoubled our second time around. 2023.05.27 00:01 Adventurous-Ear9433 Megalithic Architecture: Geopolymers, Living rock(quartz), thermal disaggregation of stone
Aswan Granite -
Symmetry of Ramses Statue J. Davidovits research into ancient geopolymers has demonstrated through chemical X-ray analysis that the casing stones of the Giza pyramids are synthetic, being of lower density than any quarried stone due to trapped air bubbles and consisting of 85-90% calcite with other exotic mineral constituents like opal CT, hydroxy-apatite and silico-aluminates. .-
Geopolymer Analysis -
Geopolymer Giza Its an "exotic " admixture thar enhances the limestone's natural capacity to convert all atmospheric acoustic energy into an electrical current within the crystals, inducing a strong electromagnetic field around the pyramid structures and within their passages and chambers. Both the low density and exotic mineral composition of the limestone show them to be synthetic but the drill marks in the
clip Basins At the Grand Canyon, analysis of the Coconino Sandstone shows
The natural piezoelectric property of minerals comprising sandstone, limestone, andesite and basalt rocks enables conversion of incident acoustic waves into an encompassing EM field. This special effect becomes amplified by semiconductor geopolymers, specially manufactured with a high content of fine metallic particles, including ferromagnetic, paramagnetic such as iron, nickel, titanium –in combination with piezoelectric, pyromagnetic and pyroelectric mineral constituents such as tourmaline and pyrite..
The Hopi told me it was called ‘firestone’ for its ability to spark plasma in the air above the pyramid faces during phases of increased planetary infrasound resonance..
The limestone surfaces of the square basins revealed the presence of oxalates, leading to speculation about beer production. However, the presence of oxalates results from geopolymer stone casting processes employed at Göbekli Tepe to produce megaliths from a liquid slurry of sand, fly ash and water. Oxalic acid was used to chemically disaggregate available bedrock into fine grains. In South America, oxalic acid residues were identified on the Saqsaywaman temple megaliths, and on the surfaces of the Tiwanaku Gate of the Sun. Göbekli Tepe's standing stones also retain residual oxalates.... I'll explain later in this thread, why all sites such as Göbekli Tepe were constructed on fault lines,

The internal chambers of the Great Pyramid are constructed of massive rose granite blocks cut with precise right angles and perfectly planed faces, brought from the nearest granite quarry in Aswan directly to the south. The surface of the stone is covered in a thin glaze of quartz, the main constituent of granite, which is typical of a stonecutting technique now known as thermal disaggregation. Watkins, Professor of Geosciences at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, has designed a
"Solar powered focusing and directing apparatus for cutting, shaping, and polishing", U.S. Patent No. for the thermal disaggregation of stone. The lightweight unit is a parabolic reflector that focuses only a few hundred watts of light into a 2mm point capable of melting granite at a 2mm depth upon each slowly repeated pass.
The notes of Garcilaso de la Vega have described the findings of the Conquistadors upon arrival in the Andes, detailing the Incas’ large gold-covered parabolic stone bowls over 10’ in diameter which were destroyed and processed into ingots.
In 2013, in the Llanganates mountains i saw the modern

It was larger than usual, and had on it a highly polished concave plate, about the diameter of an orange. They put this towards the Sun, at an angle, so that the reflected rays might concentrate on one point, where they had placed a little cotton well pulled out, for they did not know how to make tinder; but the cotton was soon lighted in the natural way. With this fire, thus obtained from the hands of the Sun. There were Solar cells found in Egypt, our ancestors understood Nature was technology.
In the case of hammering, generally you'll see rock wanting to break along pre-existing planes of weakness. When river sand, which is mostly quartz, is used to grind and polish rock with quartz, the softer minerals in the rock are sanded out, while the quartz crystals, little affected, are left standing above the rest of the minerals on the surface. In the case of wedging rock, Watkins didn't find any low-angle fractures, and no ability to control the cracking of the rock. On a surface worked with pounding stones, all the minerals are unevenly fractured.
'The most fascinating feature of the granite core Petrie describes is the spiral groove around the core indicating a feed rate of 0.100 inch per revolution of the drill. It was 500 times greater than modern diamond drills, but the rotation of the drill would not have been as fast as the modern drill's 900 revolutions per minute.'
Rose granite was used in the construction of the internal chambers because of its resonant properties. The quartz matrix of the granite stones is like a hall of mirrors with billions of parallel faces reflecting energy. The very shape of the pyramid is an amplified-receiver or resonator of various kinds of energy fields, i.e. electro-magnetic waves, cosmic rays,,etc surrounding our planet and which are in the air around and within the pyramid. Inside the pyramid the received energies, interact with one another.
Standing Waves Phi "
today we see plenty Diverse new technologies have incorporated fractal patterning for signal enhancement and more. That's a Recent acoustic resonance experiment that shows a connection between the phi ratio and a nonlinear acoustic standing wave structure". The effect of this encasement in granite is that the airspaces can be given harmonic dimensions to specify the wavelengths, which will resonate through the formation of standing waves. The dimensions of the upper chamber reflect a 1:2 ratio, allowing standing waves of integer multiples to store acoustic energy. The methods that are supposed to have been used by the ancients, such as pounding, hammering, grinding, polishing with abrasives, and wedging, just don't match up with what is seen under a microscope.

There are now almost a dozen locations around the world who offer initiates in M'TAM. Which means "from within the Earth”, and is the oldest science in the world. M’TAM represents the original body of education to harmonize the human being’s mind, body and spirit with the Earth.is structured in three disciplines: Medu (Language), Ka'at Ibi (Meditation) & Sounnt (Healing) The reason we fall short & don't understand how our ancestors accomplished these feats can be summed up quite easily. ..
Francis Bacon defined the mission of Modern Science shortly after the onset of the Scientific Revolution (1543). Accordingly, the purpose of science was, "to dominate and control Nature." Nature isn't to be dominated, explains why these ancient cultures lived in such harmony with the Earth because she was more than the sustainer of life. The ancients knew the Earth was a power station giving her children free energy.
The Electromagnetic Spectrum in Low-Intensity Conflict USAF - this research by the USAF shows us how classical concepts of electrodynamics are inadequate.
In other words, the classical theories are at the very least partially wrong in that they do not fully explain all of the reactions which are observed in the body... Electromagnetic energy naturally surrounds and permeates most planets. Our ancestors understood quite well that This energy can be used as an endless, inexhaustible power source which is very cheap to access. This energy can be tapped in the simplest of ways with technology we have right here on planet Earth now. It is so prevalent that our bodies pick it up unintentionally..it doesnt require generators & each user could have their own reciever like we have tv.

Electromagnetic Properties of Pyramid’s from Positions of PhotonicsScienceDaily-Light Accelerates Conductivity in Natures Electric Grid The Great Pyramid is flat dab in the center of the Earth’s land mass and also acts as a fulcrum. This design takes advantage of the sound waves pushing out of the inner core into the shafts; where the limestone dampens the low frequencies and only allows the highest frequencies to emanate out of the pyramid. Dee Jay Nelson and David H. Coville see special significance in the stone the builders chose in building the King’s Chamber: “
this means that lining the King’s Chamber, for instance, are literally hundreds of tons of microscopic quartz particles. The Slight plasticity of the granite aggregate would allow a ‘piezotension’ on the parallel surfaces and cause an electromotive flow" " There were customized crystals housed in the chambers. When the high frequency sped through the water then the crystals began to vibrate. A frequency so high it was undetectable by humans ears.A crystal oscillator is an electronic oscillator circuit that uses the mechanical resonance of a vibrating crystal of piezoelectric material to create an electrical signal with a very precise frequency. This means a precise frequency was generated; instrument, tools, and weapons had to be configured to this precise frequency allowing them to basically tune in and gain power If you were an outsider and you needed power you had to be cleared and trained about the precise frequency. Any invention in the ancient land need only tune-in and massive amounts of free energy were available.
The PrNtr-(pyramid) were once surrounded by those basins, which contained energetic waters the ancestors knew it as Lake Hathor. The lake waters were absorbed by the porous limestone of the pyramids which provides a connection to the water tables underneath. Again, The pyramid texts of Saqqara describe this absorption of water within the stones in exact terms, stating that the pyramids' "foundations are the stones, the water..." Corroborating evidence for the ancient use of advanced geopolymers comes from Mesopotamia, where the manufacture of basalt has been extensively documented. Note that the synthetic stones are of high piezoelectric crystalline content.
Limestone is Efficient Energy Distributor -
One of the principles of Ma'at & the single most important concept to the builders of these structures was harmony.(Harmonic unified equations)The whole of physical reality was in fact manifested by a complex pattern of interlocking wave-forms. Youll find that the harmonic values could be applied to all branches of scientific research and atomic theory.
The Earth is simply a huge magnet, a dynamo, wound with magnetic lines of force as its coils. Wiith application of grid mathematics you'll find that an atomic bomb is a device based on the geometrics of space and time. To be successfully detonated, the bomb MUST be geometrically constructed, placed on, under, or over a geometric position in relation to the Earth’s surface, and activated at a SPECIFIC TIME in relation to the geometrics of the solar system. Geometric and mathematical analysis of the polar sections of the world energy system show the harmonic value for mass was equal to the harmonic of the speed of light plus the square root of the harmonic of the speed of light reciprocal.
As we look into this even further, we can see that the fundamental, harmonic value of 144,000 for the speed of light is precisely the same as the fundamental harmonic values for many different things, including:
-the Mayan Calendar’s baktun, at 144,000 Earth days
-the Bible number of the 144,000 souls who will Ascend
-the fundamental "building block" of all sound vibration frequencies, 144
-the fundamental Gematrian "frequency number" for light, 144. And, of course, the harmonic of 12 times 12 ;So, the Gematrian meaning for the number 144 is ’light.’
Ive posted lots of research in the field of geophysics but id like to give an explanation.Ley lines vary in intensity depending upon the geographical makeup of an area, such as mineral deposits, underground streams and gravitational forces. Depending upon the location, ley lines will either support life or be detrimental to it. Every valid sacred site has been found to have water under it.
The massive 'batteries' hidden beneath your feet - Environmental Health News There are two type of water. There is the ‘water table’ water which is regarded as rain water absorbed by the earth. The other is called is called the ‘primary water’ which is created in the bowels of earth as the by-product of various chemical reactions. This water is forced under pressure towards the surface of Earth in what dowsers call ‘domes’.In Great Britain the domes are called ‘blind springs’. They could be described as geysers that don’t reach the surface. The water continues an upward journey until it hit’s a layer of rock or clay. The pressure then forces the water out (horizontally) in what dowsers call veins through cracks and fissures in the rocks. One can find primary water under every valid holy site.
The pyramid were built on the worlds largest aquifer, they needed water because sound travels about 4 times as fast in water as it does in the air. Which means the high frequency was moving with increased velocity by the time it hit the crystals. “Due to the partial co-valency of water’s hydrogen bonding, electrons are not held by individual molecules, but are easily distributed among water clusters, giving rise to coherent regions capable of interacting with local electric and magnetic fields and electromagnetic radiation.”
LetterIn sixth century, Pope Gregory, Gregory wanted them to destroy their idols, but insisted they build the churches on the older holy places, thereby automatically linking alignment to the ley lines and maintaining the power sources.Well aware of these energies, the Benedictine abbeys and monasteries were built on major power centers..
We see that the geomagnetic field inside the circle was much weaker than outside, it acted like a shield.Dr John Burke also discovered how the stones of Avebury are deliberately placed and aligned so they'd focus electro-magnetic currents to flow in a premeditated direction..Dr Brooker says its just like our modern day atomic particle collider
geological analysis Durability stonehenge *The core was 99.7% silica—almost entirely quartz, through-and-through, which was more pure than any sarsen stone Nash had worked on.
I probably should say more about the piezoelectric effect vibration has on quartz crystal. Alternately compressing and releasing the quartz produces electricity. Microphones and other modern electronic devices work on the same exact principle. The quartz crystal is the transducer.
It transforms one form of energy into another. Understanding the source of the energy and having the means to tap into it, all we need to do is convert the unlimited mechanical stresses therein into usable electricity utilizing quartz crystals.. The Shining Ones that the granite out of which this chamber is constructed is an igneous rock containing silicon quartz crystals. (Aswan Granite 55%quartz)
Finally, it should be pointed out that the whole musical scale, the whole sonic temperament, obeys the same law of the Golden Section.
Remember what it says in the Gospel: "In the beginning was the Word" - and the word is sound (a wave process characterized by frequency). The idea that this came from Pythagoras is comical. It is no coincidence that we find in the human being in particular the law of the Golden Section : The bones of the fingers, three in number; three parts of the arm (the relationship of lengths) - elements of the Golden Section. The heart beats in this rhythm and pushes blood into the aorta, leaving a portion in the ventricle.
-the rods and cones of the eye, the cochlea of the ear (the ratio of the lengths of the spirals), the structure of the whole skeletal framework - examine the statistical averages and it is all the Golden Section. Even the dynamics of the neural structures in certain mental states obey the same law.
One thing we have carried with us for tens of thousands of years is the many beneficial uses of quartz. This we received from Our principle diety Horus. Ancient Serpent priests of Egypt would use
Wands of Horus To regulate the energy balance in the body. cylinders with various contents. The use of these cylinders to a considerable extent helped the pharaoh (or other user) to perfect his nervous, energetic and (as a consequence) immune systems, to improve his health and physical condition, since the cylinders had a beneficial effect on those areas. The correct use of the cylinders enabled the pharaoh or priestly user to prepare himself for "Intercourse with the Gods". If certain conditions are observed and sessions conducted on a regular daily basis, the Wands of Horus can not only correct, but also stimulate a person's nervous, energy and immune systems, creating the preconditions for their improvement.
Like energy healing requires the competent healer in harmony with the patient, This requires precise understanding of what the Wands of Horus are and the principle by which they work, a knowledge of the cycles of activeness in the human energy system and a number of elements making up a complex approach, an essential part of which is interaction with natural sources of energy, such as trees, rivers, lakes, mountains..
Most people tell me that the ancient healing practices i use work so much better than today's watered down energy healing. Specifically Sekhem healing. In Sekhem a person is viewed as a whole energetic system with the physical body at the core. However, a Sekhem healer would work more specifically in the energy body, or aura, as it is here that illness first begins as a blockage in one of the energetic bodies or layers. In Sekhem, healing is seen very much as a two way process. It is a way of supporting a person during their own healing journey. The Sekhem energy is taken by the client at the level of the higher self, so only the exact amount needed is taken. Sekhem cannot be given if it is not wanted, and neither can a Sekhem practitioner heal a person if that person chooses (for whatever reason) not to be healed.

2023.05.26 23:48 Adventurous-Ear9433 Secrets of Megalithic Architecture: Geopolymers, 'living rock'(Quartz)properties, thermal disaggregation,Nature's Electricity
Both the low density and exotic mineral composition of the limestone show them to be synthetic but the drill marks in the
clip Basins shows that they also quarried stone.
At the Grand Canyon, analysis of the Coconino Sandstone shows
The natural piezoelectric property of minerals comprising sandstone, limestone, andesite and basalt rocks enables conversion of incident acoustic waves into an encompassing EM field.
I'll explain later in this thread, why all sites such as Göbekli Tepe were constructed on fault lines,
Harvard.edu- Anatolian fault Geothermal applications.. now we have indigenous cultures in Kenya who are working with Corporations to provide Geothermal/electric power for millions by using the energy of the Mother Earth(gaia).
The Festival of the Sun- New sacrifices must be given by the hand of the Sun. So a chipana is held by high priest. "

2023.05.26 18:25 RocknRoll_Pilot Seeking members for country band
Howdy Charlotte musicians! I’m looking for good folks to join a startup country band called Dorothy’s Exes. Influences include Zac Brown, The Eagles, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, and Cody Johnson, to name a few. Contemporary sound with classic sensibilities. So far it’s just me (frontman/singeguitar player), a bass player, and a drummer. We’re all men in our thirties, but we’re open to anyone and everyone. All three of us have played professionally in a variety of bands over the years. My vision is to create a caliber of band that can perform at River Jam, Coyote Joe’s, local music festivals, things of that nature. Not necessarily trying to drop everything and go on tour tomorrow, but we are serious and passionate about what we do. If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you! I posted in the Charlotte Musicians page on Facebook a while back which is how I found the bass player, and a lot of the open mic nights around town seem to start late on weeknights, which isn’t very practical for me. If anyone knows of any other good options to explore, please let me know.
What we’re looking for in prospective members: -looking for second guitar and keys at minimum. Fiddle, banjo, and pedal steel are on the wish list. Multi instrumentalists go to the front of the line! -ability to sing harmony is a must -experience playing live and recording greatly preferred but not necessarily required -most of all, the desire to have FUN!
I can provide more info, music samples, etc upon request. I’m looking forward to meeting some awesome new musicians!
