2023.05.30 15:45 Xodiv An accurate formula for M+ score calculation in Dragonflight S2

I thought I would post this here, since it took me quite a while to figure out and all of the information in existence is either slightly wrong or completely wrong.
The formula for the score from an indvidual best mythic keystone dungeon run is:
20 + (adjustedKeyLevel * 5) + (nLevelsAbove10 * 2) + (nAffixes * 10)
adjustedKeyLevel is the level of the keystone completed, minus 1 if it was not timed, and plus or minus up to 1 by failing or beating the timer by up to 40% (linearly interpolated).
nLevelsAbove10 is the number of keystone levels above level 10 (e.g, 11 = 1, 12 = 2). Any bonuses or penalties for depletion or failing or beating the timer do not affect these bonus points.
nAffixes is the number of affixes present at that keystone level (including Tyrannical or Fortified): 1-6 = 1, 7-13 = 2, 14+ = 3.
Here is in-game lua code to calulate it (and demonstrate correctness by printing the comparison with the server-returned value):
```lua local function round(n) return math.floor(n+0.5) end
local function GetAffixCount(level) if level >= 14 then return 3 elseif level >= 7 then return 2 else return 1 end end
local function GetTimerBonus(mapID, info) local _, _, mapTimer = C_ChallengeMode.GetMapUIInfo(mapID) local maxBonusTime = mapTimer * 0.4 local beatTimerBy = mapTimer - info.durationSec -- can be negative local bonus = beatTimerBy/maxBonusTime return Clamp(bonus, -1, 1) end
local function CalculateScore(mapID, info) local naffix = GetAffixCount(info.level)
-- Gain or lose up to one level worth of score for being -40% to +40% timer local timerBonus = GetTimerBonus(mapID, info)
-- Levels above 10 are worth 2 extra points (7 instead of 5) local nAboveTen = max(info.level-10, 0)
-- The bonus (or penalty) for the timer does not get the 2 bonus local level = info.level + timerBonus
-- Subtract one level for not timing it (not penalised the 2 points). if timerBonus <= 0 then level = level - 1 end
return 20 + level5 + nAboveTen2 + naffix*10 end
for _, mapID in pairs(C_ChallengeMode.GetMapTable()) do local scores, overallScore = C_MythicPlus.GetSeasonBestAffixScoreInfoForMap(mapID) for _, info in ipairs(scores) do local score = CalculateScore(mapID, info) print(info.score, round(score)) end end ```
2023.05.02 15:34 BudoBoy07 DF Season 2: Loot Distribution and Drop Chances in M+ for each spec
I have generated a series of loot tables covering what each spec is capable of acquiring from M+ and Raid in Season 2 of Dragonflight.
These tables can help you target specific gear slots / stats, making it easier to plan out which dungeons are worth running. It also shows what type of gear you are most likely to loot; for example, some classes will really struggle to see a Two Hand weapon drop in M+, and these tables highlight that. This can impact how you spend your sparks, which loot spec you choose when running your dungeons, and maybe even what you pick from your vault.
About the formatting: Item names have been replaced by its secondary stats. C is Crit, H is Haste, M is Mastery, and V is Vers. For example, M>H should be read as Mastery>Haste, signalling that the item contains more Mastery than Haste. For trinkets, a shortened name is used.
The 'Vault' column shows how likely each gear type is to show up in your vault (assuming everything is weighted equally). NOTE: I have included the 5 tier-set pieces from the raid in these calculations, as tier-set gear can show up in your M+ vault (equal weight is assumed).
I have shortened the dungeon names and boss names as follows:
Dungeons:
Raid bosses (in order):
Major credit goes to Amasoful for creating an amazing loot spreadsheet.
The tables have been automatically generated (but manually verified; let me know if you find a bug). Scroll down to find your class/spec, they are listed in alphabetical order based on class name:
If multiple specs within a class share the same loot table, they have been grouped together.
If the tables are unreadable on your device, please let me know!
2023.04.17 08:55 2BOnest Professions and quantity materials needed for recraft
Hi!
Since the launch of dragonflight I've been fond for wow profession and I enjoy a lot the whole process of advertising on trade chat and sell crafting service up to the point that I've made 4 characters with all the crafting professions.
However, since the beginning I've always tried a way to calculate/know the quantity of required materials needed to recraft an item. I sell my craft as rank max guaranteed so if an item doesn't proc to rank 5 I take care of the recrafting with my mats and not making pay the client extra money but I found out only on the recrafting window with craftSim how much will cost me each recraft.
This sometimes leads me to a negative transaction since I might be selling the service to a cost that covers for N recraft and the craft does not proc for that N times and so it burns also my tip for the service.
Is there an addon, a calculator, a macro, a script, a filesheet, anything that can making me know the quantity needed to recraft a specific item? I can do this only for item crafted that I carry in my bag/equip and its a real bummer...
I've tried to calculate by myself but the quantity seems aleatory since for instance the [Chef's Splendid Rolling Pin] takes [Runed Writhebark]x15 and [Draconium Ore]x30 for the craft but on the recrafting side is [Runed Writhebark]x5 and [Draconium Ore]x10 and I can't seem to find a criteria for that :/
2023.03.29 03:49 Kaja3XD Starting an Occult Obstruction run, any tips?
In short, I'm playing the game with Occult Obstruction on while expecting that to somehow be a good idea. For reference, Occult Obstruction sets my CPS to zero. However, it doesn't get factored into the CpS calculations of some things, so it's a much, MUCH better idea than a theoretical "Onlyclick" run where I'm not allowed to buy buildings.
Currently at the Thousand Fingers upgrade, and my goals are as follows.
FIRST ASCENSION: 110 HC (I know the guidelines give an 'optimal' route, but I don't think it's meant for runs using Occult Obstruction)
1HC: Legacy (for reasons)
100 HC: Permanent Upgrade Slot (for Thousand Fingers. Might grind for further Permanent Upgrades to give to further clicking upgrades)
9 HC: How to Bake Your Dragon (Dragonflight, Supreme Intellect)
BUILDING UPGRADES:
Level 1 Bank (for obvious reasons)
Level 1 Pantheon (Muridel, Godzamok, Rigidel)
Level 5 Wizard Tower (so I can spawn Golden Cookies with one tower to get Click Frenzy more often)
And that's about as far as I've planned. Are there any optimizations I'm missing?
2023.03.27 17:20 StrawHatShack New-ish player with a couple mythic questions.
Hey yall. I am a pretty new player. I began playing around Christmas for the first time with a laptop I got then. Dragonflight is my first dabble into wow. I've been running mythic for the past month and got my rating to just under 1700 and my iLvl is 400 with my holy paladin. I feel pretty comfortable with what I am doing up to +9. I feel solid with +10 and +11. At 12, I start to struggle and by 14, unless everyone else is amazing, I can't get it done. I have four basic questions.
1) What's the big difference once you hit mid and high keys from the lower keys?
2) How do i track how i am doing? I see raider.io and the basic "score" they give (i am typicallyin the middle. 3 of 5) but i have no idea how that's calculated and its the only metric i know to look for. is there anything else i can use?
3) when do I use my clense? aka which dungeons need it? most guides I saw said it's not used much but I know Temple of the Jade Serpent i know has something I have to dispell. I killed a key not doing that last night.
4) which affixes do i as a healer need to worry about? I think Grievous has been really hard on me but i haven't been playing long enough to know for sure.
Thanks yall!
2023.03.17 01:51 FranzJosephReinhold Automating reputation grind - free level 30 Iskaara Tuskar!!
I don't wanna get banned for this but feel like it's not cheating
If you buy 300,000 fish (I did cerulean spinefish cuz they were cheap) - then that's 50k max for 75,000 xp from starting at level 1 Iskara Tuskarr. You can calculate a personal XP left by going 0.25XP per fish.
Download the addon "Quickquest" which auto-completes quests. Then go to the daily quests "Catch and Release" to turn in those said fish for 5 rep every 20 fish. Quickquest will autocomplete your entire way until level 30.
Now I just have the Maruuk left (22/25) and then I'll be max for every dragonflight faction! Yay! Hope this helps someone else who is stuck in the grind and waiting for weekly resets!
EDIT: yesterday I bought 300,000 fish for 17s each for a total of 51,000g. I only ended up needing 50,000 fish to hit level thirty and now they're selling at 1gold 92 silver LOL! Too cool!!!
https://keystone.guru/release/v6.3
General changes: * [\#1580](https://github.com/Wotuu/keystone.guru/issues/1580) 10-man Ulduar speedrun routes are now possible. Both the mapping and required enemies have been updated. Creating a new Ulduar route allows you select between 10-man and 25-man versions. All current Ulduar routes are considered 25-man. * [\#1600](https://github.com/Wotuu/keystone.guru/issues/1600) Viewing routes for a specific season now has dedicated pages for showing popular routes for just that season - it is no longer based on the expansion of said season. * [\#1530](https://github.com/Wotuu/keystone.guru/issues/1530) Reduced the downtime of the site while performing an update. Bugfixes: * [\#1603](https://github.com/Wotuu/keystone.guru/issues/1603) HP calculation of enemies is now correct past keystone level +10. * [\#1611](https://github.com/Wotuu/keystone.guru/issues/1611) Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur when attempting to save a pull. 2023.03.02 21:35 Clapfosho Sho's First Gold Cap - Alchemical Theory
1 TLDR
2 Spreadsheet
3 A Typical Day
4 The Full Story
TLDR: I spent 2 months cashing in the basically untapped market of Alchemical Theory but now have been priced out by people willing to sell at margins that don’t make sense to compete with.
Spreadsheet - With goldcap screenshot
Sho's Alchemical Theory Crafting
Here is my spreadsheet. Feel free to use. Please note that I have 2 alchemists but that is only because I did not want to put 30 additional points into inspiration again when I was only making Q3 reagents on my Goblin. This could have easily been done with one Goblin alchemist with full inspiration points maxed out.
A Typical Day
I played Monday - Friday 9am (EST) - 6pm (EST). I started every morning by inputting the AH prices into my Spreadsheet. Next I looked at my remaining inventory from the previous day and decided how much I wanted to craft of each quality 3 reagent. Generally speaking, I would craft 200 of each item which yields around 580 (2.9*200) units of each. I spent 10-20 minutes crafting and then began the long day of cancel scanning while I do my day job. I always recrafted if something ran out, but typically it all sold fairly evenly.
I used TSM and created a group for each item and quality, then put in a minimum gold price for each one calculated by my spreadsheet. I updated this daily.
At the start of my journey I would spend over 1 million gold each morning to craft my reagent batch. This upfront gold slowly decreased over 2 months and now a full batch costs around 300k-400k. I typically would see about a 200k-300k profit per day once I had everything figured out. The margin slowly decreased as prices went down. For the last 3 weeks the profits have dwindled to less than 30k for a 400k investment. There has been a particular player who is willing to tank all the prices to below profitable in order to sell. Buyouts do not work because crafting more is quick and simple. As of this reset, I have decided to exit the market entirely. The items I sold were: Agitated Potion Augmentation (APA), Brood Salt (BS), Sagacious Incense (SI), Stable Fluidic Draconium (SFD) and Reactive Phial Embellishment (RPE).
Full Story
The Start
Dragonflight started like most expansions for me; after the release date was announced, I received a call from work telling me I needed to travel for the first 2 weeks of launch. I was devastated. This was supposed to be the expansion that I was in the first wave of crafters to market. I was all researched up to be the foremost toolsmith on Illidan (US), but I knew the dreams were a longshot if I couldn’t invest all my time and effort into rep grinding at the start. So I started the expansion on the road, playing from a laptop with an integrated graphics card, reading the game off a 10 year old portable harddrive. Very quickly I had strong feelings that my chances were dashed. When I returned home the holidays were two weeks away and traveling to see family was fast approaching. I felt like there was no chance of me making money in this crafting economy. Everyone was maxed out and my skills were still in the 80’s. I unlearned Blacksmithing and Leatherworking and picked up Alchemy for the longer flask times and a dispel in Brackenhide since I play a druid and don’t have a disease dispel.
The Mistakes/Early days
I had no knowledge of Alchemy. I always heard Transmutation (in previous expansions) was okay for some passive income on your daily CD. I maxed that out with my first 20 points only to find that I was netting about 500g - 1500g a day. Worthless in the scheme to hit gold cap. Those 20 points were wasted. Great start!
The Lightbulb
It was post Christmas now. I had been doing all my dailies, weeklies and was leveling alchemy with no real purpose. I had accrued enough knowledge points to earn Brood Salt and had just hit Valued reputation with the Artisan’s Consortium. That gave me access to Agitated Potion Augmentation (APA), Brood Salt (BS), Sagacious Incense (SI), Stable Fluidic Draconium (SFD) and Reactive Phial Embellishment (RPE). It was time to do some spreadsheeting to see if anything I could now make would be profitable even though I was doubtful. After the first rough pass at the cost vs the income it did look like it could be profitable, but I had no real understanding of what any of the crafting stats really meant. I understood that resourcefulness meant I could get mats back, but no idea how many. I knew that inspiration could proc but how did that work with multicraft? I had to learn. I tried other peoples spreadsheets but they just didn’t click, this was on me to figure out.
The Hook
In early Jan, 2023 I decided to take a plunge. I had 1 million gold from Shadowlands, it was time to put it to use. I was committed to spending it all to make this work, but it was never in danger. My first day was a reset day and it came with a lot of luck. On the morning Jan 3, I made a modest amount of 20-50 crafts of each to feel out the profitability and what the procs of multi, insp and res were like. The servers went down and then came back up. Almost immediately someone did a reset on all the prices.. Modest gains were now tripling in profit. I didn’t have all my points in inspiration yet, I had zero points in resourcefulness and my gear wasn’t even maxed out. None of this mattered that Tuesday. Everything I crafted sold seemingly instantly Quality 2 and 3. I couldn’t keep up. I crafted and sold for 6 hours after reset and made 1.5 million gold profit. I had found a goldmine. Dreams of multiple gold capped characters floated through my head.
The Comedown
Sadly, I never saw a 1.5 million profit day again. This was a fluke, an enigma that fueled my fire to pursue the gold cap once again. My spreadsheet was coming along. I had gathered all the data from my first day of crafting. I had an idea of how many quality 2 and quality 3 items would come from a craft, how many mats would be leftover after a craft and what rank mats I needed to buy. But profits were never the same as that first day.
The Switch
I maxed out inspiration and the main skill tree. Two more weeks went by and I was crafting quality 2 and 3 items with a decent rate of return. I had made between 2 and 3 million but I wanted more. I could tell that the real profits were in selling quality 3 items, but I was only getting .75 quality 3 for each craft I made. With all quality 3 mats I was at 297 skill points but I needed 300 to guarantee the quality 3. Bottom line - I had to be a goblin to make quality 3 only finishing reagents. That really sucked because I played a druid and they can’t be goblins. So I had been grinding my butt off trying to get all those knowledge points to increase my skill and my class and race prevented me from being the best. On top of that, I didn’t have a goblin anything. So I was left with a decision. Do I continue to make ever decreasing profits on my druid or do I switch it up and play a goblin. I decided to roll a goblin, but I didn’t want to level from level 1 so I took my 60 Orc hunter, paid for a race change by converting some hard earned gold into tokens, and leveled it to 70 in an afternoon.
The Rep and Mettle Grind
In order to be relevant in this part of the Alchemy game I didn’t need that many knowledge points. To be able to craft all quality 3 mats I needed 90 points total; 50 in Alch Theory and 40 in Chemical Synthesis. An additional 30 points were needed to dump into Resourceful Routines, but that was to maximize efficiency and not a deal breaker. I didn’t have much issue getting this and within my first reset I had enough points. The real issue came in 2 parts. First that I had spent all my mettle learning new recipes and buying the Artisan points. I didn’t have enough to craft my max level profession gear. Second, I needed to be Valued with the Consortium to get recipes and I was nowhere close. In order to get mettle I learned every other profession and leveled them up getting every first craft. This took some time but I ended up with enough to craft my gear and with 2 resets worth of Consortium quests I was able to compile enough. As for rep there is only so much you can do. There is the contract, the weekly quests and then I found a single quest for each profession when you learn it scattered around the world that gives 25 or 50 rep. In 2 resets I was able to gain my rep up to Valued. From starting the leveling to being operational it took about 12 days.
The Facepalm
I had my biggest facepalm moment when I realized that I could be crafting primal convergents (PC) myself for a significantly reduced cost instead of buying them off the AH. I created a calculator to determine the actual cost of each PC because you cannot guarantee quality 3 but you need quality 3 to craft Sagacious Incense at quality 3. The quality 2 PC could be resold and make the cost of the PC up to 4 times cheaper than buying on the AH.
The Conclusion
Now I had everything I needed. I made many tweeks to my spreadsheet to hone in on what I should make but there is no grinding left outside of the cancel scan. I made about 50k-300k a day on average, cancel scanning while I worked from home. I have never made this amount of gold before. I did earn the Long Boi in BFA and have always had enough gold to pay for my sub since then, but I always hovered around 1 to 3 million with no real prospects for hitting that elusive gold cap until I stumbled into Alchemical Theory.
If you actually read this - Thank you! - I hope you enjoyed my not so short story.
2023.01.26 16:26 ritchus (How Rating Gains Work) Understanding the Behind-the-Scenes Functions of Rated PVP
Note: This sub receives a lot of screenshots of solo shuffle CR gains/losses that can be answered by understanding match making rating (MMR). Wowhead put out a guide that explains it and in future when a screenshot of a scoreboard is posted with a question about CMMR they will be redirected here and the post deleted.
Source: Understanding the Behind-the-Scenes Functions of Rated PVP
Author: Soundscape
Prerequisite Knowledge/Terms
The goal of this section is to help you understand how the game pairs players/teams, how point gains and losses are calculated, and to understand some basic terminology.
Rated PVP Rating
  1. CR (Current Rating): The rating that you, as an individual player, are currently at.
  1. MMR (Matchmaking Rating): The rating that your team is averaged at, for the purpose of matching you against other teams.
As a brand new player (at level 70) the game will effectively give you a 1500 MMR (please keep in mind the disclaimer at the start of this article). It could be a little higher, it could be a little lower, but we will say it is 1500. If both you and your partner have brand new, at max level, characters, they will each have an MMR of 1500, your Team MMR will be 1500, and your CR will be 0.
Matchmaking/Pairing of Teams:
Earning and Losing Points:
As we know: Each player has a CR and an MMR. What you see in the bottom right of the scoreboard screen (in a rated match) is the teams averaged MMR and the rating you see next to each player is their individual CR. It is possible that player can have zero CR and a high MMR, and it is also possible for a player to have a high CR but a low MMR. This is not super common and typically indicates that the player is on a win streak or a loss streak (de-ranking aside).
Things to know:
  1. The game tries to do what it can to match your CR to your MMR. This is likely the most impactful determinant to point gains/losses.
  1. The difference in rating between your CR and your Teams MMR.
  1. The difference in rating between your teams MMR and the enemy teams MMR.
  1. Win Streaks/Loss Streaks
2023.01.22 15:37 Colanasou We're in the Renaissance of WoW
It wasn't the continual positive feedback I see that gave me this realization. It was the dumbest thing that did actually, the community feast. I had no other worry last night than to help this fat walrus stir his soup and crush some hermit crabs. people came from all over during the event and for 15 minutes we hung out. It was great. See this is what the game needed. it took the pressure valves off of us as players and as characters. i genuinely hope the story doesnt hit us with surprise old god again, i want this to feel like wrath. new continent to explore, some casually minor threatening dungeons as you go, you know the big threat you need to stop but it isnt a race against time to stop them at first, the main city just welcomed you in and made you feel like home and not like it was a military base.
legion was entirely based AROUND fighting the legion. every single aspect, every raid, everything was CALCULATED to be done BECAUSE of the legion. idc about the mission table, the borrowed power, it was fine because it had PURPOSE. BFA was supposed to be a faction war right? ok. the borrowed power was picking up pieces of azeroths blood to empower us, the mission table was exploration and tactical. the story however, went from clearing a titan facility to the alliance deciding "eh f*ck it lets just go end this fight before it happens" and decided that this king that ruled for 200 YEARS with an iron fist would just ALLOW himself to be captured?, to the naga thinking now is the time to make an appearance, to an old god coming after the planet. there was no linear path, they threw darts to decide what to include.
shadowlands followed suit though, and idc what anyone says i loved torghast as a fun activity and i wish they did more with it, my only issue was coming out of torghast and getting my ass kicked because i spent a half hour slapping everything around me and forgetting i cant pull 15 mobs anymore. the borrowed power was such a sucky grind, and after 2 expansions of borrowed power, making it worse was the dumbest thing they could have done. the misison table? hot garbage. oh no let me send out a team to help save the critters of ardenweald from some mawsworn agents for a scrap of anima. at least denathrius was a GREAT villain. he had his own motives, while also having loyalty to his boss. he had character and reason and lore. then we go invade his bosses castle. we take out some of the threats we had to deal with the whole expansion early, then we just kind of explore the castle? the mid 3 bosses had no purpose but hwatever. we get some actual lore of whats happening with the guardian, and follow up on the fate scribe, and kel thuzad because power. then its sylvanas, the reason we started this whole thing, only for her to decide in the end that she doesnt want to work here and decided to quit her job but got told she cant quit because shes fired. then we go after the real villain, the P̶r̶i̶m̶u̶s̶ jailer. we dont even know his motive, we have no clue what he thinks or knows will happen, barely have an idea as to why hes doing it, and it culminates in him not being a real villain anyway. it ended on a sour note.
Dragonflight however? its fresh and fun. theres no looming threat of doom. theres no stressful grind to keep up my power level so i dont fall behind. i dont need to rally troops to save lizards from drowning or to fight a shark thats been terrorizing fishing areas. theres some rogue shaman trying to kill off the dragons, some fire giants running amok, a centaur civil war, and some poisoned gnolls. hell thats half the dungeons, the other half is a school tour and 3 "hey i wonder whats behind that door" and its just GOOFY shit while still being serious enough for a dungeon. dragonriding was amazing as a concept, though i wish there was something more to it than "the dragons love flying and wanted a rider to help steer them so they can enjoy the view" but its at least FUN. we get 2 sets of WQs a week, so it freshens up without feeling like you have to do them all. even the primal storms arent stressful, i can jsut kill like 50 adds and get my weekly sigil and some progress for the achievements.
nothing feels rushed. nothing feels left out. it feels great to have no actual reason to log in to the game for once. no real motive for being online. i can have alts to do stuff because i have the time now. this is what we needed. we needed the fun put back into the game.
2023.01.20 19:15 Drakenstair Winners of Malygos's Madness
The Madness Fades
[HEADER IMAGE]
Congratulations to all challengers who attempted the puzzle! Four matrices were ultimately submitted, all reaping sizeable temporal bonuses.
By a twist of fate even I hadn't foreseen, our Loremaster-in-chief's score was nerfed by the minimal "Anti-Mind" score reduction I had added in the instructions — minimal, but apparently sufficient to tie him with the challenger on his tails!
Thus, I am pleasantly surprised to announce both u/MyMindWontQuiet and u/DisgruntledDiggit as the winners of WarcraftLore's first lore challenge, Malygos's Madness! The Battle.net Balance prize will be cleaved in two, i.e., $25 CAD to both competitors.
As second-place runner-up, u/hasj4 opens a portal to the innocuous golden disc — the Demon Soul. The origins of this iteration of the foul artifact are uncertain. Indeed, the font of stolen Aspectral power from the Prime timeline was depleted and destroyed several times, until only dust remained. Perhaps some strange chronomancy is at play; in Time, the possibilities are Infinite.
As third-place runner-up u/Ethenil_Myr opens a portal to the hammer of prophecy — the Doomhammer. Forged by the Heart of the Mountain, this is the symbol and pride of the Blackrock clan — and now of the renewed bonds between the Horde and the Elements.
***
As previously explained, these legendary artifacts will be of help in future challenges; if you want to be alerted about these, feel free to follow me. All my work is Warcraft-related: I post lore guides, chapters in my Dragonflight: Complete Lore Guide collection, and other more meta articles. If you feel like supporting the content I create, you can Buy Me a Coffee.
2023.01.11 16:44 Sapu94 TSM Dragonflight Update
I've just posted a blog post which provides an update on TSM in Dragonflight. You can check out the post here, or read it below.
Dragonflight Update
In this post, we’re going to dive into where we’re at, what’s coming soon, and where we’re going with regards to supporting gold making in Dragonflight. I’ll start things off here by apologizing for not being as active as I would have liked with communicating this information sooner. TSM was definitely not as ready as I would have hoped for the changes in Dragonflight. There are a variety of reasons for this, which mainly boil down to not having enough development hours to spend and underestimating just how much of TSM would need to change to support the new profession changes. I understand people’s frustration with the state of TSM in Dragonflight so far, and am committed to improving things going forward. However, this will take some time.
Current State of Things
With that said, let’s talk about what changes we’ve made so far, and where things are at as of the time of writing (v4.12.20). The following things are working today:
Coming Next
Here’s a list of things that are actively being worked on and can be expected to be released in the very near future:
Longer-Term Roadmap
There are a few other areas of TSM which definitely need some love and will be revisited in the not-too-distant future, which I thought I’d also call out here:
Crafting Cost
I thought it would be helpful to give some details on how we’re approaching crafting costs in Dragonflight. As we all know, Dragonflight greatly expanded the complexity of crafting things with professions. At its core, each recipe has a difficulty which gets matched up against your skill level to determine the result. That skill can then be modified with higher quality materials and various optional materials, as well as by proc’ing inspiration. In order to calculate how much it costs to craft something, TSM currently considers all the potential qualities of materials which result in the desired item being crafted.
As a hypothetical example, let’s assume there’s a potion which takes 1 herb and 1 vial to craft, with each of the materials being 1 of 3 qualities, and the recipe producing up to quality 3 of the potion. Let’s assume that using quality 3 of both materials results in quality 2 of the potion being crafted, and any other combination of materials results in quality 1 of the potion being crafted. To determine the crafting cost of the quality 1 potion, TSM will determine that there are 4 possible ways you could craft this item, from the 4 possible combinations of quality 1/2 of the herb, and quality 1/2 of the vial. TSM will then pick the cheapest of these options and use that as your crafting cost. Going further, it’s impossible to craft quality 3 of the potion, so TSM will treat that as an item you don’t yet know how to craft, and not display a crafting cost. Similarly, if you weren’t able to get your skill low enough to craft quality 1 of the potion anymore, TSM would treat that as something you can no longer craft and not show a crafting cost.
Currently, inspiration is not taken into account. From the above example, it’s possible that you could craft quality 3 of the potion if you were inspired. It seems like this will be important for some recipes where it won’t be feasible to get your skill high enough to craft at the highest quality without an inspiration proc for some crafts. This is something that’s not yet taken into account, but is something that we will plan to support in a future update as mentioned above.
Also, the game allows you to mix and max different qualities of the same material to hyper-optimize your crafting cost. For example, a recipe may require 5 of an herb, but you may only need to supply 1 at quality 3 with the remaining 4 being quality 1 in order to craft the desired quality of the crafted item. This isn’t something TSM takes into account, and is not something we have plans to support, due to the exponential increase in computing resource it would require to consider all possible permutations. Calculating crafting costs is already an order of magnitude slower than any other price source in TSM, so we felt that requiring all of a given material to be at the same quality struck the right balance between maximizing profits and keeping things performant and manageable for the user (i.e. when listing materials needed to craft something and/or gathering them).
2023.01.10 20:20 RemasXproto Need some Gearing advice.
So I've been enjoying Dragonflight on my Unholy DK and have been steadily progressing in my gear over the past few weeks. So far me and my friends have been content running M+ instead of raid since those are much easier to coordinate between all our schedules. Right now I'm sitting at 392 ilvl but for 2 weeks now I've been in a bit of a dry spell getting upgrades. Mainly for my weapon and pants.
As of this week I have 2 sparks saved up, 1 primal infusion ready with another possibly if I can cap out Valdrakken this week, and 3500 valor. My main question really comes down to if it would be better to have a weapon crafted with my 2 sparks+infusion for a 405 2h or if the sparks would be better applied to say, getting a Frostfire Belt and a pair of pants and using my infusion on my lariat. My current weapon is the 385 polearm from Nokhud so it's stats are very "ehhh" to say the least.
Any insight is appreciated as I'm terrible at making mix/max calculations. Thanks!
2023.01.08 17:50 cohenaj1941 How to find what items are selling by market share and what's the value of all markets in WoW?
We have built a market share overview that calculates the value of items by taking the current value and historic value of all dragonflight items and multiplying it by the TSM sale rates. It also shows you how the prices have increased or decreased recently to give you the state of the market if the price is crashing, decreasing, stable, increasing or spiking.
Update: We have now added a S&P 500 style heat map. You can view it here: https://www.reddit.com/wow/comments/107jxxv/how_to_find_the_best_items_to_sell_on_the_auction/
2023.01.02 12:35 Phalanx808 Mining mechanics: Skill required for ore quality
Mining mechanics: Skill required for ore quality
TLDR
Each time you mine a node you /roll a number (330 for Serevite, 435 for Draconium) and then add your mining skill. If the result beats the skill threshold (445 or 590) you get a 3* ore
Quality Serevite skill + /roll 330 threshold Draconium skill + /roll 435 threshold
2* Probably 200 250
3* 445 590
With math from mistermeeble below, we find that the theoretical maximum ore output is as follows
Serevite Draconium
Highest 3* Yield (Normal Node) 61.2% 37.2%
Highest 3* Yield (Elemental Node) 91.5% 60.2%
Note that the difference between normal and elemental nodes is NOT because of a difference within the vein, but because the player has access to more skill specialization points in the mining journal.
Introduction
I couldn't find anything on exactly how gathering professions work with respect to skill vs quality in Dragonflight. In an attempt to change that I ran some gathering tests. This will only cover Serevite and Draconium, as I don't have a big enough sample size of Khaz'gorite and the game doesn't give the Primary Reagent Difficulty for that ore.
Method
It's clear that there is some function inherent to each node which acts in tandem with the player's gathering skill to determine the material quality. There must be an RNG skill modifier, or else you'd always mine ore of one quality until some set skill threshold, then always ore of the next quality up. Since I mined zero 1* Serevite I think it's safe to assume that the function is linear. That is, the function is a simple roll such that:
(Threshold for 3* ore) = (Primary Reagent Difficulty) + (max Node Roll)
Primary Reagent Difficulty is listed in your mining journal for each ore node available. It's defined as the minimum mining skill required for 3* ores to start appearing.
Node Roll is what I'm calling the ore node's RNG engine. I'm assuming the node essentially does a /roll to determine its internal ore quality, but instead of 1-100 it's 1 through some number we need to figure out. The bigger the number is, the less impact player skill will have on the end result.
So we need to determine the Node Roll before we can find the threshold over which your roll + skill value yields 3* materials. The Node Roll can be found with this formula:
(Node Roll) = [(Player Skill) - (Primary Reagent Difficulty)] / (Percent 3* Gathered)
Data
My mining stats
Ore Quality \ Ore Type Serevite Draconium
1* 0 6
2* 1087 472
3* 716 125
Character Mining Skill 246 246
Primary Reagent Difficulty 115 155
Discarded data: Chunks from overloaded hardened nodes yield 1\ draconium and serevite. I did not include ore mined from these chunks in the data.)
Results
Serevite
(Percent 3* Gathered) = 472 / (716 + 472) = 39.7%
(Node Roll) = (246 - 115) / .397 = 330
This suggests that the "roll" each serevite vein takes when mined is 330. Given that I don't have the biggest sample size it's more likely that the number is even, somewhere between 300 and 350.
Using 330 as my closest estimate, I then calculate the threshold for 3* serevite:
Threshold for 3* Serevite = 115 + 330 = 445
I didn't mine any 1* Serevite, so the best I can say for it is that
Threshold for 2* Serevite < 246
I will then use the same process to determine the draconium thresholds. Keep in mind that this is a smaller sample size and so will be less precise.
Draconium
Percent 3* Gathered = 125 / (125 + 472 + 6) = 20.7%
Node Roll = (246 - 155) / .207 = 435
Threshold for 3* Draconium = 155 + 435 = 590
And since I also mined a few 1* Draconium bits, I can try to estimate the skill required for 2* as well. That calculation is:
Percent 1* gathered = (6) / (125 + 472 + 6) = 1.0%
Threshold for 2* Draconium = Player Skill + [Node Roll * (Percent 1*)] = 246 + [435 * .01)] = 250
Conclusion
Each time you mine a Serevite deposit, each of the ores within the node does a /roll 330. If the result of that roll plus your own skill is higher than 445, you get a 3* ore! If not it's 2* or below. Note that these based on what I gathered. Actual values will be close but not exactly these numbers.
Draconium also rolls, but it's /roll 435 instead of 330. If that roll + your skill > 590 you get 3 stars. Again, numbers based on ore collected. Real values may vary.
The effect of having such a high internal roll on both types of ore is that mining skill has less impact than you might think. Increasing mining skill by 9 will net you 2% more 3* Draconium and 3% more 3* serevite (as percentage of net yield. If your skill is low it could be a 100% "increase" in total 3* mined)
To Do
Determine the numbers for Khaz'gorite. To do this we'd need two different people mining at different skill levels to mine an ungodly amount of ore without changing their mining skill level, then give me their data. I'd accept your data if you did this and gathered 150+ Khaz'gorite. We need two different people because the game doesn't give Primary Reagent Difficulty for Khaz'gorite so we need at least two data points to be able to compare.
Find theoretical maximum mining ability in Dragonflight. Thanks mistermeeble! Theoretical maximum skill for normal nodes is 317, for elemental nodes is 417
More Data! I have a small sample size, especially for Draconium. More data is definitely better, so again if you have a larger data set please send it to me. I can also share a spreadsheet that does the math for you.
Herbalism: If you're an herbalist and want to contribute let me know! Important: Your skill must be the same across all variations within an herb tybe (no increases for elemental herbs, etc), or you must keep detailed records of each elemental type's contribution.
2022.12.29 20:05 makesmashgreatagain engi gear spec
I swapped to engi last night and I just wanted to know what you guys recommend for a spec focused on gear. To note, I am not really looking at guns- its a bit expensive point-wise right now for me and I want to be able to do the bracers/helms well.
Here's what I've planned on so far albeit I am behind in total KP, https://i.imgur.com/AcZYLNN.png. Beyond that I was thinking about Mechanical Mind to branch into tinkers, or optimized Optimized Efficiency + Generalist if I need raw skill and some inspiration on the gear crafts. Any opinions or things I am missing?
edit: link to calculator instead of screen shot if you prefer- https://www.wowhead.com/profession-tree-calc/engineering/BCoOAE4ELOABeBPBooPCB4ELsA
edit2: if you read this post and think i am asking for your opinion on the state of dragonflight engineering, please close the tab. telling me to swap is categorically not what i asked lmao
2022.12.17 02:20 blue_trackerbot WoW Kaivax in Solo Shuffle Update - December 16
Arenas » Solo Shuffle Update - December 16
Kaivax
Greetings,
We’re excited to see Rated Solo Shuffle underway in Dragonflight Season 1 and are happy to see interest in the feature. In October, we posted an FAQ about Rated Solo Shuffle and we want to provide another update following the abundance of feedback and data we’ve received.
Title Rewards
As indicated in the first FAQ, we recognized the feedback around the end of season title for the top 0.1% of each specialization in Solo Shuffle, Crimson Soloist, to be an underwhelming choice of title. We discussed alternative titles and landed on one we think better encapsulates the prestige of the achievement: Crimson Legend. Going forward we plan to use the Season name as the prefix.
Additionally, Solo Shuffle is missing a goal for high end players who are not necessarily in contention for ending the season in the top 0.1%. Similar to how the Gladiator title works in 3v3, we will add a new seasonal title with a corresponding achievement in Rated Solo Shuffle: Legend. You’ll earn this title by winning 100 rounds of Solo Shuffle above 2400 personal rating. This title will then be available to use for the remainder of the season and will be reset at the beginning of each season.
These updates are coming to the game next week. Unfortunately, due to a technical limitation, the tracking for rounds won for Legend will not be retroactive.
Future Improvements
We also want to provide an update on some additional features and improvements we’re actively working on implementing. These will come to the game with future updates:
  • Rating calculated per round in games with leavers.
  • Deserter debuff being tracked account-wide.
  • UI improvements
  • Matchmaking Value for each player in a match will be displayed on the scoreboard.
  • Adding a warning prompt that displays the penalty for leaving if a player attempts to leave a match.
  • Mouseover on the queue time for a match will display the Average DPS wait time as well as the Average Healer wait time.
  • Indicator on the UI for Call to Arms for Healer, displaying extra rewards that healers receive for queuing.
Finally, we recognize that queue times for damage dealers can be extraordinarily long due to having a low ratio of available healers to DPS in the queue; there are nearly 4 DPS for every healer during the most active queue times. We’re actively discussing the best options to incentivize more healers to queue for Solo Shuffle and we’ll share more about that as we develop ways to address it.
Thank you very much for all of your feedback!
2022.12.06 22:37 JoshiNomz How to get 10 millions years worth of CpS in 10 seconds
I found this out a couple years ago but have finally decided to post it. No hacks are used, and this is achieved through stacking virtually every buff in the game.
x1.2 Loan 3 (stock market)
x1.5 Loan 1 (stock market)
x2 Loan 2 (stock market)
X2 Radiant Appetite (Dragon Aura)
x~2.2 lv 9 garden full of glovemorels
x2.5 golden switch
x3 sugar frenzy
x7 Frenzy (through stacking)
x15 Dragon Harvest (The golden cookie right before reroll for Dragonflight, might want to stack this one once or twice)
x~45 Godzamok (sell farm - temple, I have a little over 900 of each, depending on where you are in the game this will vary)
x60-100 Building Special (FtHoF #4)
x60-100 Building Special (FtHoF #3)
x666 Elder Frenzy (FtHoF #2)
x777 Click frenzy (FtHoF #1)
x1223 Dragonflight (normal golden cookie)
This comes out to roughly x1.3e18-3.6e18, which peaks at a little under 1.7 quintillion times multiplier. I don’t remember how many cookies this actually gives you since it would be also based on how many clicks you get in, but it’s a fuck ton. Buffs that I’m not including in my calculations but can be included easily:
elder covenant 100 sugar lumps legacy upgrade Luminous gloves legacy upgrade Mokalsium temple slot because this will vary based on your milk
Prerequisites Level 12+ cursors for loans, Level 9+ farms for garden, golden cookie upgrades for golden switch, golden cookie duration is long enough to be stacking dragon harvest, 307+ wizard towers to cast FtHoF twice without using a sugar lump so we can cast for a total of 4 times. Make sure Godzamok is on the first slot of temple, Vomitrax on the second so stacking dragon harvest will be easier, and Muridal on the third. We will be switching out Vomitrax for Mokalsium when all the preparations are set.
Cookie monster add-on is very helpful for timing FtHoF. This does not count as cheating, it simply shows the timers golden cookies and buffs along with some other minor conveniences.
Step One
Set up your FtHoF - easiest to do by pasting your export save link into the FtHoF planner, and looking for 4 consecutive FtHoF’s that are elder frenzy, 2 building specials, and click frenzy in no particular order. If you can’t find one, you can reset the seed by ascending. Once you find it, burn spells until those three are your next four FtHoFs. Make sure you know which ones are which.
Step Two
Optimize your garden- it's pretty annoying to do because they have a certain amount of randomization to plants aging, so even if the plants need the same amount of time to mature, some might mature much faster than others. Use save states to make sure that all your glovemorels are pretty close in age, and then right when your oldest glovemorels mature (so they have 2 ticks of life left), switch to clay soil and freeze your garden. We'll unfreeze it later.
Step Three
Start stacking normal frenzy. This is fairly easy to do using save states. First, save file right when you get a frenzy cookie, and if the next golden cookie is a frenzy, save file again. If the next golden cookie is not frenzy, load your latest save file. This method can stack frenzy to insane durations (once I stacked it up to an hour). You don't need to stack it that long, ~10 minutes of frenzy (600 seconds) should be more than enough. To stack easier, use golden cookie frequency buffs for aura and temple.
Step Four
Switch aura to dragon harvest, then stack dragon harvest. Same save state method, but much harder since dragon harvest has a much lower rate of occurrence. If you don’t stack the dragon harvest, there’s a good chance that the dragon harvest won’t last long enough, so stacking it to 180 seconds (roughly the length of a normal frenzy) would be a lot safer, one or two stacks should be enough. Once this is done, pop loans 1 and 3, switch your auras to radiant appetite and dragonflight and your ruby temple slot to Mokalsium and save state.
Step Five
This will be the most annoying and complicated part of the process, because the reroll process will involve slapping down all of your buffs every reroll.
  1. Unfreeze your garden. Right before you unfreeze your garden, save file. Then unfreeze. You will probably notice some of your glovemorels dying because they aged 2 ticks. If you want maximum multiplier, reload the save file and unfreeze until none of your glovemorels die, then save that file. This new save file will last 1 clay tick, which is 15 minutes. After that clay tick, even if you reload this file your glovemorels will be dead. If you haven't gotten dragonflight in those 15 minutes, repeat the process.
  2. Using cookie monster addon, wait until you feel like the next golden cookie could spawn within the next ~30 to 40 seconds, then pop all of your FtHoFs, using a sugar lump after you run out of mana.
  3. Pop loan 2 and sugar frenzy, set building preferences to sell all
  4. When the golden cookie appears, pop golden switch
  5. Pop golden cookies in this order: building specials, new cookie (hopefully dragonflight), click frenzy, elder frenzy. Building special is first because it has the longest timer, dragonflight is second because if dragonflight is clicked after click frenzy, there is a high chance of it replacing click frenzy, but the opposite is not true. Elder frenzy is last because it has the shortest duration.
  6. Sell buildings (farm through temple), and do it as fast as possible
  7. Click the big cookie like there's no tomorrow.
2022.12.05 08:09 derfloh205 [New Addon] CraftSim
Hello fellow goblins. I thought it would be nice to have something like simcraft top gear but for profession gear and related to profit. Also everything automatic and ingame. So I made CraftSim
As a desclaimer, it is still in development but many features are already working, like:
Feature(s) I am currently working on
This is all per recipe and is calculated automatically when opening or modifying a dragonflight profession recipe that will not result in a soulbound item.
The current price source is always DBMinbuyout or Vendorbuy
Special thanks to Liqourice5 who shared his implementation for optimizing the material allocation
And ofc the link: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/craftsim
