So I was unlucky and apparently ran over a nail on a Turo rental. The tire pressure flagged right when I got home after picking up the car.
I honestly thought it was just a TPMS sensor being weird when I drove the car and topped it off with air since I only had it for a day.
The host is trying to ask me to cover the costs for a new tire, but I'm not sure if this is something I am completely liable for. Any thoughts?
Not trying to skip out on anything, but also nails in tires is just kind of a bad luck thing and I wasn't being negligent when buying the car.

Jumping back into the hobby again after 10 years and I'm still polishing off the rust.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations about hooking up your mobile rig to the car battery. Would anyone recommend using a cigarette lighter adapter, or hooking straight up to the battery terminals?
I'm planning on Running a Yaesu FTM-6000R for my car rig. Antenna has already been selected, was just wondering what would be the preferred power connection.

Hi all - I’m planning a solo, two night kayaking trip down the Au Sable (6/17-6/19). Just boondocked along the river for the first time this past weekend and can’t wait to return for a true backcountry experience.
I’ll either be starting in Grayling and ending at 4001 or starting in Mio ending at Cooke Dam. I have my own gear and I’m willing to pay the price for a car spot at any of the Liveries but I’m hoping to avoid it if possible.
Is anyone else planning a trip for the same dates and looking to save some money?

Not really getting any bites from my resume. Was never the best at this so figured I would seek some help! Currently looking for a new position as I can no longer afford to be working for my current company, also the constant calls are driving me crazy. I have come into some money, so for the first time in my life I will be able to buy a brand new car! I have been looking and I like the Volvo S60 and the Audi A4. I am leaning towards the A4. The A4 seems to be the better car.
I like that the Volvo has the appearance of understated luxury. However, the Audi is not flashy either.
I plan to keep the car at least 5 years probably longer. Which is the better car?

While I love several handbags there are certain ones that become my most used/daily go to.
My car was broken into and my two favorite handbags were stolen:

1. Furla Soho Satchel in Espresso
2. Chloe Faye Day small in black

Before I go on I KNOW that they should not have been in the car. Thank goodness they were empty!
The craftsmanship on both was amazing! The Furla was over 10 years old with minimal wear. The Chloe had the divider inside and the pockets were perfect.
It has been over a year and I still think about them from time to time. I have looked online for the Furla one from a reseller.

I am trying not to feel guilty and beat myself up. The guy that stole them was never caught, the police were of little help not even taking fingerprints from the intact car window. I know if I ever see him or his female accomplice - images burned in my brain and saved on my phone - I will probably tell them I want my handbags back.

This game mode is based off of Halo/COD “infected” mode. Consists of around 20 players per lobby spread out over the map. All players are survivors, however, a 20 second timer will set and by the end of it 1 player will become the demon. This first demon starts out with a legendary hunting rifle. Once the demon gets another teammate by killing them with it the hunting rifle will disappear and all survivors will have a 1 shot crossbow with plenty of ammo. Demons will have legendary melee weapons only so don’t let them get too close. Demons can place a portal that has to be out of the survivor’s view of sight so they can spawn there after they die and continue their onslaught until all the survivors are dead. The survivors will win once the 15 minute timer expires
Maps should be sections of pre existing maps with several different locations.
This game mode will be drastically different than the original game mode. No dodging, no shemps, all weapons are one shot, no cars and no abilities from either side.
Preset classes could also be a thing before spawning in. Either a crossbow, double barrel, boomstick, or a pistol. For demon you can select the basics or elites of any demon but this will only be a cosmetic choice.
Any survivors who have their fear go up are seen by all demons. Demons must be within 10 meters to see the highlights of nearby survivors.

We have been dating just over a year, I’m 29, he’s 32. I have my own apartment, he lives with his parents… Still.
I was discussing him needing to move out, because not only is he older than me, and still lives with his parents, but it would be a good step in the right direction for our relationship.
I live in a studio apartment, so he wouldn’t move in with me, but I would never date someone that has never lived on their own .
I am a nurse, and I make more than he does, but he does make decent money as a security officer for a government contractor. He claims it’s because of student loans and car loans that he can’t move out, and his parents said he can stay in their house as long as he pays off his bills, which he is, but he’s making no effort to even try to move out,
I’m from Massachusetts, I moved here on my own away from home to follow my job that I got. Well, I’m paying my loans off, I still pay rent, my utilities, things like that, so I told him how I’m more independent than he is, so him and I started looking at apartments.
I told him he needs to live on his own, but he said because he’s trying to get a government clearance, he can’t go out and buy a house, or take any large financial changes or risks. I honestly think it’s just an excuse.
I told him he needs to stop being a mama’s boy, and move out and be an adult. He’s older than I am, and he still lives at home, which is honestly pathetic. He has no work ethic to move out.
I asked him why he has no drive to want to move out, and he said it was because of money, but he makes enough to where he can actually move out and still pay rent. But he says why pay rent, which is literally burning money, where you don’t own anything, instead of saving money, and buying something later that you can own? I think he’s just avoiding everything.
Which brings me back to the question of AITA, for telling him that he hast to stop being a mama’s boy and become more mature. His response is that his finances are none of my concern, and it’s not my right or privilege to lecture because my parents were not as lenient as his, but I still don’t find that as an excuse.

I am looking to purchase a GR86 Premium. I am on a wait list for one, but with a time of 3 to 6 months, the new model year will likely come out before I even sniff one.
I am trying to decide whether or not to keep waiting, or to shop around a little bit at some other comparable options.
Immediately I would consider the Mustang and Challenger, both of the lower end trims, as I would like to stay around the 30-36k range.
I would appreciate any advice here, and any other cars to consider beside those two alternatives. (Yes, I have considered the miata, and I do not really like the body style sorry lol)

Trigger warning: mentions of verbal child abuse
When I was younger (around the time I went to elementary school) I was always very extroverted, social and never noticed any traits related to autism. I didn't know what it was at the time and I never noticed any autistic traits. I am now 16(F) and for the past 3 years, I've been struggling more with sensory issues.
I grew up in a very abusive household. I lived with my father, stepmother and a dog. My dad always yelled at me, made fun of me and told me to be "normal" because I was always very extroverted and loud. My dad has had several surgeries in his back. I don't know the exact details, but he has trouble sitting and standing still for a period of time without experiencing a lot of pain in his back. Because of that, he always lays in bed in his room. I was never allowed to enter. Because of that, I had a severe lack of attention. Something that every child needs growing up. I started being really bothered by this around the age of 10. My dad would often make fun of me for being chubby, he would yell at me for every small mistake I made and he would blame me for everything that went wrong, even if he was at fault, because "I'm always right" he says. I have a half-brother and half-sister who both live with their mother, so I barely got to see them. They are both like at least 10 years older than me, so they could come over with their mom's car to visit my father, and whenever they did, I always felt like I could express myself to them, but not to my father. I always wanted to hang out with my brother, as he was very protective over me and very worried, since he knew my situation.
Eventually (around age 12) I taught myself that as long as I don't speak to anybody and don't do anything without being asked to, I wouldn't get yelled at. This childhood lead to me developing social anxiety, PTSD and depression. I eventually got rid of my depression at around age 14, but the PTSD and social anxiety still stick with me to this day. I'm afraid that every person I meet has the possibility of being a terrible person like my father, so I distance myself from strangers and I avoid as much conversation as possible with people I don't know/trust.
I visited my mother every other weekend, and every time I went there, I felt like I was in heaven. Nobody that yells at me. Nobody that blames me. Nobody that makes fun of me. She's always super caring. She didn't gain custody of me because of her drinking and gambling issues, which she got rid of after a bunch of therapy just so she could get custody of me, which she has now had for about 3 years. I don't visit my father at all anymore.
I was diagnosed around the age of 13 with a light case of autism. (I'm not sure if we used levels in my country) I didn't think much of it at the time because I didn't feel different from others in any way. I was just struggling with depression, which I also got diagnosed with a lot earlier than autism, so I didn't care about my autism. My mom suggested that I should get diagnosed, as I was showing signs of autism which, again, I didn't notice. My dad said that it was ridiculous. "My child could never have autism. She's perfectly normal, as I raised her", he would say.
When I moved in with my mother, I could express myself more and be myself. What used to be my extroverted, social self was ruined by social anxiety and PTSD, and I now am quiet unless I'm talked to or asked about my special interests. Now that I'm allowed to express myself, I notice that I'm extremely obsessed with what I'm passionate about, and I can get really good at hobbies that I enjoy, such as drumming and gaming. Recently, I was ranting to my half-brother for half an hour in the car about a video game I really liked when he asked me one question about it.
I notice that I adopted my father's behavior of sitting in my room all day, not coming out unless it's for school or dinner. I'd eat breakfast, lunch and snacks in my room. I was allowed to close my door. My room was like a safe haven that I could go to whenever I please to de-stress.
When I was around 15 years old, I started having worse and worse sensory issues. Sensitivity to light and sound are mainly what I'm worried about. The sound of people murmuring and chatting around me in big groups, the light of the lamp in the classrooms, the feeling of my lenses in my eyes. I never had these problems at a younger age, how come I only have them now? Could my autism have grown/developed because of my trauma? I've tried looking up "Causes of autism", "Can mental trauma cause autism?", etc etc. The only things I could find were how women who were abused had an increased chance of giving birth to children with autism, how PTSD could be confused for autism or the other way around and other things that didn't answer my question. So I turn to reddit.

I'm a relatively new driver in my early 20s with probably less than 200 hours of driving experience. Last year, I moved across the country to a city with unreliable (but existent) public transport. I've managed to get by walking and taking the bus so far, but having a car for groceries, out-of-the-way destinations, emergencies, etc. feels really appealing.
Budget isn't a huge concern for me, as I have a stable income. < $30,000 is a good starting point. Parking would be an extra ~$100 a month, and car insurance will be a bit expensive due to my age. Here are the other points of note:

• Usage - mostly groceries, commuting to work, maybe some small road trips.
• Frequency - I don't think I'll be driving very often. Maybe anywhere from 1-3 times a week.
• Safety - this is a big one for me. I don't have much confidence as a driver yet, though I will say I drive very defensively. Still, safety features would ease my mind!
• Size - I prefer a smaller car, so long as I can store the volume of maybe 2-3 medium suitcases in any combination of the trunk or back seats!

Any suggestions for model, make, etc. are greatly appreciated! So far, I've been looking at Toyota Corollas and Camrys - this is the type of car I'm used to driving, but I'm keeping an open mind.
Also, any feedback on whether or not it's even worth it to buy a car in my situation is very welcome. New or used, leasing, etc. - I am open to all suggestions! Thank you!

Car was sitting idle for a year and some months but was in a garage. I got the car, it worked perfectly fine for about a month then the battery began dying. We assumed it was the battery, so after a month of it sitting I got a battery for it and it worked perfectly for about two days. I let it sit out yesterday, I didn’t have to drive, and when I went to go drive it today the battery was dead.
Anyone know what this could be? There’s no weird noises or other indications as to what it is. It’s not automatic lights but I turn the lights off every time, I have a car charger plugged in all the time but I don’t think that would draw too much power from a new battery.
